Simon Cowell signed him to a recording contract, the album didn't do that well, Cowell dropped him, as of 2016 he was trying to put together an independent album. Winning the X Factor didn't do him a whole lot of good. His voice isn't bad but he wasn't as talented as his second-place main competitor Rhydian, who just retired from the music business at forty.
