It's not like the show was a long-time staple for UPN unlike the other more successful fellow programs of the era, such as the Parkers, Girlfriends, One on One, etc. It felt like nothing more than a mere fad.
Wow Sidney Pointer daughter made a tv series. She pretty this show was good. I love the actor Randy Goodwin he's fine. Great show this gem only lasted one season
Not the greatest pilot but not the worst. Abby is a bit of a blank slate and Kadeem is a little too cocky/cavalier in his depiction here. The original boyfriend (I found out after Googling) wouldn't have worked either. Slightly undercooked. Needed a little more work before it went to pilot.

Why do you say that? It was a typical show for it's timeframe. And there definitely WERE professional Black people at this time. The only not-believable part was them agreeing to be roommates.
Even if it's cheesy or corny by some peoples standards. I just love reminiscing and watching these black shows.
I remember seeing the 1st episode of this show on upn and it never came back on again.😂

A Different World was late 80s, early 90s. This is early 2000s.
