Do they all sound like that? I just got one and it's very noisy even without the blade installed. I was going to return it thinking something is wrong with it.
If you are commenting on the sound of the saw on the video, that's what it sound like. I have used it a lot and the sound is still the same. I have several other circular saw brands and they all sound about the same.
Good question. According to the Home Depot web site this saw does not use a brushless motor. Ryobi makes cordless saws with brushless motors, but they are more expensive.
Brushless motors, in general, use less battery. Therefore more run-time. They are also may last longer as the brushes in a brush motor are wear items. However, brushless motor tools are in general more expensive.
Good demonstration.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll install the blade and try it out. If it's works okay I'll save myself the trip to return it.
Is it brushless?

Why does it matter if brushless

I would put a Diablo blade on this saw,it will cut better(less shredding if the materiel).
Yes they make good blades.
I got this skill saw for free when I bought a (x2) battery and charger combo.
I have used mine a lot. It is a great light weight saw.
Wow the batteries cost more than the saw, good for you.
