That video at the end is gold. My first hobby grade car was a Blackfoot I built in '85 as 14 year old. I still have it, and like you, I have so many nostalgic memories of running it.

In 1984 I thought this was the best car in the whole world , Now 36 years down the road I still love this car ! She was my first love !

This series is so fascinating. I've had zero interest in RC cars until recently, but for some reason I just love hearing about the quirks of these neat old cars and the work you do to them. Keep up the good work!

Well thank you. This is also my favorite bit about RC's is hearing peoples takes on them.

Love your passion! ....and I'm the same way with the old stuff. I'd still have all my origional stuff now if it wasn't for a massive forest fire here in 2016 that took my house and garage.
My first build, which was when we were aloud back in the city after the fire was the RC4wd Mojave thats pictured in my profile. Really do miss the old stuff though. Glad you can still enjoy it.👊

Well thank you so much! Awe my gosh I am so sorry to hear that! That is awful. That is a picture of the Mojave! I thought it was a real truck! Hahah! That is the same scheme as my HG P407 and I did the blue version on my WPL C34.

watching in the UK. I had a Grasshopper as my first RC back in 1986, it was all i could afford but with a few mods it was ok, I ran a VW Baja Beetle body on it with the Brat wheels and tyres, they were very good on it, I found that the gearbox casing either side of the diff used to fail on a regular basis, they were good fun though, and thats what its all about.

    • @AMPROEngineering

I also ran a beetle body on mine for some time! It was the Bolink baja bug that was a copy of the scorcher. Still have it! Yes, they were all about fun!

AMPRO Engineering well I’m a bit of a Nikko nut. Just seeing those colors together takes me back to the first time I saw a Turbo Panther in stores. I like Tamiya too but the Tamiya purists can be a little touchy about their subject matter.

I agree, the Nikko body theme was spot on and the best of the 3 .

I remember looking at Novak speed controllers when I had my mechanical smoke show servo operated 3 speed unit... Those things were like $220 back in the 80s... Like $500 in todays money. The first time I got a ESC was like a Futaba with the light that blinked and you would adjust it.... what an amazing difference to have infinite throttle. Then I ended up getting a Traxxas TRX something I should have got a RC10 which is what I later got and that was the car to have back then. 30 plus years later I just got back into it and bought a Rc10 b6.4 and about $2500 later im weekly racing at my local track like the old days. Fun stuff. I can't believe how good the new ones handle in comparison to the old ones, yet in some ways not much has changed.

Even the thought of a mechanical speed control gives me the shivers. How I hated those and hate them even more now.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  3 роки тому
