- During her questioning yesterday in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) asked Jackson to define the word "woman," which Jackson said she couldn't because, "I’m not a biologist."

It would be like asking do you believe Trump should be charged with treason? Well...that's not an actual legal case before me to determine whether sufficient facts are present to move forward towards prosecution and trial on the charges of treason against Trump.
If she were to answer the question YES, then she'd be guilty of bias and prejudging a matter without looking at the specific facts of the case.

The very first question any nominee should be asked is "Do you intend to answer any questions you are asked during this hearing?". If they answer no, that will save a lot of time. And kind of surprised that Joe didn't catch that she wrote "I can't tell" on the gender question on her supreme court judge application, since that was 50 percent of her score.

What you need to understand is ever since the Bork confirmation hearing the goal of these hearings is NOT to elicit information to help a senator vote, but to say as little as possible about what they think or their views on Anything. This is true for All confirmation hearing no matter the party.

And NOBODY questioned her qualifications (even a bit) when she was up for the Court of Appeals appointment including ALL of the Republican senators who oversaw her confirmation back then.
