I’d love to see a small version of Deadblow as a memorial to Grant Imahara, complete with attachable add-ons for some of the later modifications he made to it for MythBusters. Also Mechadon - not because it was terribly competitive, but because it was such a beautiful and audacious walker.
Man this just shows how far technology has evolved over the years just in the toys for battlebots but if hex bug ever made a classic era rival set I honestly would love to see vlad the impaler and mechavore because man that fight is still one of my favourites fights of all time
I have returned as I see old battlebot toys. As much as i loved bots like sow,biohazard, Alabama slammer (got to represent where I currently live) and dr inferno,but I have to say,my favorite were family bots scrap builds and weird builds. Things like snake,scrap daddy, towering inferno, zombie and big stick got my attention. They were so weird and I loved that. I probably wouldn't be in the sport if it wasnt for those bots. It showed you didnt need fancy tools and tons of money to get in,and they also showed no matter how weird bots were,they would always be fun to watch. Wished battlebots would let more bots in like those. Closest thing we got was rusty and daisy cutter. But seeing those bots inspired many people to do the same and build bots out of junk,so those bots really helped me into this sport

Diesector vs Final Destiny was the fight that cemented my love of Battlebots after seeing Final Destiny tear up its opponents, and then Diesector just come in and make it destroy itself with little pokes. It showed that this wasn't just about robots smashing into each other but also driving skill and tactics.
So Minion was a _Magic: The Gathering_ reference? And here I was, thinking it had something to do with the tank-driving demon from _Twisted Metal._ 😛 As for a Comedy Central-era bot toy, I'd love to see a full RC version of Warhead. Granted, it's cheating because it was also in the modern series, but that machine was the coolest thing ever!
Wonderful video showing off the older RC toys! I adore Diesector. I love the design, had unique weapons and I loved its victory dance when it spun with its jaws open and banged its hammers on the floor. The other is Tentoumushi mostly because it was the first battlebot I saw as it was also in Robot Wars in the UK (Thankfully the CC shows were shown in the UK later too) I loved it's unique weapon of trapping its enemy under it. Plus it's cute. Also a shout out to Mouser Mecha-Catbot for having a theme tune that gets stuck in my head from time to time.
I think I still have a Vlad from 20 years back, albeit in a thousand pieces. None of my friends had one, so I never got to try it out as it was intended. My favorite from the era was Grendel. Green? Hammer? Weird shape? Perfect.
I'll never forget Ziggo, the Gigabyte of its time. First fight I ever saw was it vs Missing Link from Jason Bardis on season 1 of the Comedy Central airing, and from that point I couldn't get enough of the show. Also it's crazy seeing Andy here; the first thing my mind goes to when I hear about him is still the 13 year old driving Slap em Silly 😅
These are the retro bots I’d love to see from the retro days remade again. Lightweight: Ziggo! This little full body spinner was virtually unstoppable! It was the ancestor of Gigabyte in terms of appearance. Middleweight: Hazard. Which bot won 3 Giant Nuts before Paul and Bite Force? That’s right! It was this Middleweight! Heavyweight. Biohazard. It was 99% impossible to get under this bot. Extremely low to the ground, titanium wedge skirts on all 4 sides, how do you fight that bot? Super Heavyweight: Toro. This right here is the Super Heavyweight version of Bronco! And it was awesome seeing those 300+ pound bots get launched. Serious power.
One of my first and most successful robots was two Do-all toys stuck together. I've never seen a 4 treaded robot before or since. I'd want a Complete Control toy, MW or HW version. It's just so cool to see it pick up opponents!

When I was a kid, I remember getting an Overkill toy. Not a cool RC one like that, it was just one where you would pull back the blade and it was spring-loaded or something to that effect. But because of that, Overkill was the only bot I knew before I began watching the show. If they made a new Overkill toy these days, I would have to get it.
i would love to see Hexbug make Ziggo and El Diablo. i loved those robots and even had both the R/C El Diablo and Minion. I wish I still had those toys they were so cool!
Man it is great seeing these again. I actually have the Minion RC toy on my display shelf in my room (I sadly have no one to play them with :( ). I loved the stylized look they had, and honestly they make for some great toys. As for my Favorite Comedy Central Battlebot........Imma have to go with Ronin. Despite not having the best combat record out there, it is just such a beautifully made and visually appealing robot with the track pods, war banners and saw/disc that I can't help but love it. I know Pete Abrahamson is retired from Robot Combat and loves his new job as the Bot Whisperer, but what I would give to see this bot in person, maybe on display at a Battlebots filming session. Honorable mentions go to: - Dr Inferno Jr - Biohazard - Nightmare - Complete Control - Diesector and Tazbot (Basically anything by Donald Hutson) - Executioner (Technically competed in the 1999 Long Beach event, but I don't care, chainsaws are cool. If this wasn't comedy central specific this would be my favorite)

Ziggo because they were almost the best Lightweight in every season beating Backlash, Hazard because it was oh-so-close to being perfect in 5 seasons if it weren't for T-Minus, Son of Whyachi because the Ewerts as a family won the Giant Nut in Season 3, and Diesector because, c'mon! Donald Hudson's robot was the first robot to sport a televised attachment for Final Destiny and this changed fights depending on what drivers choose to do today!
☠️The toys and magazines are quite literally my age and that’s crazy to me. I didn’t grow up in the Comedy Central era but seeing Zack’s enthusiasm for the older boys makes me wanna look into the older seasons! From a Hexbugs perspective, I’d like to see both Dissector and Minion! I think Hexbug would have a nice time with the paint job. Plus the decals would really pop! And I’m sure it would be popular! As a Canadian, I'd want to see Complete Control. We're from the same city so it was mind-blowing when they announced where he was from. And Derek was winning too! What memories I had seeing him fight and how disappointed I was when he lost against Hazard.
I love Son of Wyachi due to its destructive weapon way back in time of battlebots. SOW almost K.O every of its opponents because of its destructive full body spinner. I also like Donald Hudson’s Dissector. A legendary robot with 6 times Heavyweight Champion I think. Dissector has a great design back then with 2 axes at the sides and big mouth wedge at the front. Dissector also got featured in numerous movies or series and commercial if I’m not mistaken.
It wasn’t really a fighter, but I absolutely loved Snake, just the coolest looking design almost 500lbs of robotic evil, I would totally love a toy version
I would love a deadblow toy! Grant was my inspiration to start this in this sport. They should donate the proceeds to the Grant Imahara STEAM foundation. I just love how relentless he was with his driving. Every time you saw him with his bot on Mythbusters he looked so proud of his death dealing creation.
I had so much nostalgia seeing the Blendo/Doo-All twin pack, that was the one I had! And I did exactly what y’all said in the video and converted them both into antweights! My favorite classic era Battlebots is something I’d have to breakdown by weight class. For lightweights my favorites were Ziggo, Dr. Inferno Jr., Backlash, Tentomushi, Death by Monkeys, Code: BLACK, and Gamma Raptor, for middleweights my favorites were Hazard, Complete Control, Heavy Metal Noise, SOB, Huggy Bear, T-Minus, Moebius, El Diablo, Blade Runner, and Ankle Biter, for heavyweights my favorites were Nightmare, Biohazard, Mechavore, Surgeon General, HexaDecimator, KillerHurtz, Mauler, Vlad the Impaler, Phrizbee, TazBot, M.O.E., Son of Whyachi(also a super heavy later on), and Overkill, and for super heavyweights my favorites were Diesector, Toro, Minion, The Judge, Hammertime, and Vladiator. Needless to say I’d love all of them to get rereleased in some form, even if just as push strikes, or even just like die cast or plastic little figurines. If it must be as the remote controlled HexBugs and a limited amount, I’d want twin packs of Ziggo/Dr. Inferno Jr., Hazard/Complete Control, Biohazard/Nightmare, and Diesector/Minion.
My favorite back in the day was Backlash, first fight I ever saw was Backlash winning a fight back in season 1 and got hooked ever since. And while this does make me want to say "make Nightmare into a Hexbug", Biohazard deserves a slot by being the most decorate bot in BattleBots history, Diesector could get a shoutout with how much modern BB references it whenever LockJaw fights, and Mechadon not because of any real reason other than Mechadon is a thing of beauty and it doesn't matter it wasn't good at the actual combat side of things, it looked great, it was amazingly technical for the era it was in (even by modern combat standards but even more impressive 20+ years ago) and it just had that presence to it
I'm still got parts of that RC Minion in the loft! As for classic robot being made into a hexbug I going to bend the rules and say I would love to see Firestorm and Panic Attack be made a rivals pack after the amount of fights they had in Robot Wars.

I worked for Wizards when we were sponsoring Cool Robots. My geek-level around that time can not be underestimated, but that's about as far as I was personally involved.
I'd love to see a series of old-school Rivals sets based on weight class. Ziggo and Backlash/Wedge of Doom, T-Minus and Hazard/S.O.B., Biohazard and Nightmare/S.O.W., Diesector and Vladiator/The Judge. The sheer variety of designs from that era was so fun, and it's not hard to see their lineages in many of the modern day machines.
Oooooh, classic bots as Hexbugs... I've got a few in mind 😁 T-Minus, to do the double somersault self-right Vladiator, with appropriately bonkers speed Aaaand... If it's possible, Mechadon in all its articulated glory.
So... When I was much younger. I remember Blendo being revved up by Jamie Hyneman and thinking. "That guy is gonna fall off that step ladder and that will be the end of everything!" FF a number of years and Mythbusters came out and for some reason, I thought that MythBusters was going to be about Battle Robotics. And I was really disappointed when it wasn't. So with that in mind, it would be Blendo and DeadBlow to keep up with the theme. Adam Savage even did a recent video where they looked at Deadblow as Grant Imahara still had it in his workshop when he passed. Brought on all the old feels. So yeah... Blendo because I think it was the potential closest I think anyone could have died in the old series and Deadblow for all the feels.
I would love to see a dual pack made. First robot would be Nightmare, who could ever forget the first time they saw that massive spinning disk. The second would be Disector, they were one of the first bots to use forks and wedgelets to help protct themselves and they were super destructive with that hammer.
Donald Hudson is still such an inspiration to the Battlebots community, so Diesector would be THE CC era bot that would need a new toy. I'd also add some attachments to the son of whyachi toy, so you can have the new and the classic looks, since it'd serve as a bridge between the new battebots and the classic era.
I know it's not a Comedy Central robot, but it is comedy central in these videos, I want a toy of Diana so I can open my toys in... over the top ways and break out of closets safely (even if it does ruin a mop or two) 😄
I would love to see Mechavore. That was one of my favorite classic era robots with a scary engine like ICEwave's, and it'd be awesome to have that as a toy. The best part is that the weapon motor wouldn't have to be quiet, cuz ICE engines are super loud and awesome to hear.
Growing up I had that same Blendo and Do All set. I lost them years ago, but I remember running them till the batteries died. I want to agree with so many others with Biohazard and Nightmare. But I have to say, I'd love to see Deadblow get made into a hexbug toy.
I think almost everyone would love to see Nightmare make a modern showing. That thing was basically the posterchild for the franchise... before it was a franchise! (Man, if only they could have engineered it to self-right!)
They didn't make it self right, but they did make the arms flip the other way so it could drive inverted.. And there are always rumours it'll come back. Stay tuned.
We had a very successful kilobot (similar to the modern beetleweight size) up here called 3D... That stood for "Dual Do-Alls of Doom", since it was just a pair of Do-All treaded chassis linked together with a big metal wedge on the front! In terms of old school robots that would be cool to see revived/made into a hexbug, I'd love to see what they can pull off with Complete Control, which was slated to get an RC toy (one of the pro-series like Biohazard) back in the day but it was dropped due to the bot's poor performance in Season 5.0. That, and CC is the reason I build bots now.
I think I have to go with Tazbot and Biohazard. Two incredibly unique machines, and two that I'd love to see make a return in the modern era. (Especially Biohazard. It might do well if updated to modern tech.)
If I could choose two bots to have as Hexbugs I think I would have to choose Mouser Mecha-Catbot and Vlad the Impaler. Some of the most memorable bots in the early seasons, at least to me.
I'd have to go with Disector because I'd like to see Hexbug try to handle the multiple weapons (maybe make the hammers removable). And I'd also like to see a Hexbug Ronin, if for no other reason than to reward Pete for all his excellent Bot Whisperer insight.
Eighteen years and still having fun ! I can understand why - I have only just discovered battle bots this year (also Robot Wars , NHRL , and a gzillion youTube articles. I can’t get BATTLEBOTS shows in Canada which is very sad … so i’m not familiar with the ‘old’ comedy central cast of bots. But I m guessing Tombstone and Free Shipping would be competing back in the day, so I ‘ll pick them! Meanwhile I have to get back to learning about Fusion 360, EMCS, LIPo batteries, 3D printing, weapon design , brushless motors , wheels and hubs, wedge design, soldering, and on and on …
My favorite CC Era robot (And my choice to be a toy) would be the Judge, it could be cool to have a genuinely gigapowerful hammerbot in the line of the hexbugs as even blacksmith and beta just aren't terribly strong.
I really liked overkill. Their weapon may not have done a lot of damage, but I believe it was one of the coolest looking bots in the competition. And i think it would transition well into a hex bug nowadays. Also if I am not mistaken you and Diana actually have the original blade of Overkill!
id love to see an SOB one, because its totally doable, and, since its technically from the era, but not the same show, razor, cuz i really wanna see a gebug crusher now that we have every other major weapon type besides it.
I certainly would have have to choose Toro for my top pick of og battlebots, I love the design with his horns and the way he played like bronco, idk I just think he was really neat
Overkill was my choice for a toy remake as well! I love it so much that I recently made a fairyweight thwackbot, Killtacular. If I put a plastic blade on it, it's basically a toy! It didn't do well in combat (Bunny ripped its face off) but it was fun to design and build. I made a video on my channel showing it off!
The first fight i ever saw when i got into battlebots was SOW vs Nightmare from the cc era. my favorites from that era were Ziggo, Little Drummer boy and even though it didn't do so great, I loved Double Agent as well! However, what i would like to see in the current area more than a new biohazard (which i want as well) would be a new version of SOW as a walker or shuffler. I'm really interested in how a full body spinner would do with the walker addition and the weight bonus it would probably get from it.
I'd also like to see Diesector make a return. Even though i don't think it would do great with how the competitive field is currently, it would still be a neat robot to see in the Battlebox again
I gotta say my two favorite bots from the comedy central era have to be the OG Son of Whyachi, and Diesector a very close runner up would have be Toro for me. I love all three of them, but I gotta go with SOW, and Diesector for my two most favorites. For the bots I would love to see get made into toys or have their toy versions remade I would have to go with a remake of the OG Son of Whyachi toy at a slightly larger size with modern day electronics, and as some others here have mentioned a tribute to Grant Imahara by having a Deadblow toy made to honor his legacy as not only a Mythbuster but a fellow bot builder of the BattleBots community. Rest in peace Grant Imahara you will be missed dearly 😔

I think deadblow would be a very fitting robot to be made into a modern toy. As for some others I've always like SOB and backlash also what if they did a lockjaw vs disector rivals pack
this is just in general. I think a SOW toy would be great especially that it was the first rookie ever to win a giant nut. If they come out with one whyachi bot is made maybe hexbug will make a hydra or fusion, even falcon or warrior clan.

I just love how relentless he was with his driving. Every time you saw him with his bot on Mythbusters he looked so proud of his death dealing creation.
I had so much nostalgia seeing the Blendo/Doo-All twin pack, that was the one I had! And I did exactly what y’all said in the video and converted them both into antweights!
My favorite classic era Battlebots is something I’d have to breakdown by weight class. For lightweights my favorites were Ziggo, Dr. Inferno Jr., Backlash, Tentomushi, Death by Monkeys, Code: BLACK, and Gamma Raptor, for middleweights my favorites were Hazard, Complete Control, Heavy Metal Noise, SOB, Huggy Bear, T-Minus, Moebius, El Diablo, Blade Runner, and Ankle Biter, for heavyweights my favorites were Nightmare, Biohazard, Mechavore, Surgeon General, HexaDecimator, KillerHurtz, Mauler, Vlad the Impaler, Phrizbee, TazBot, M.O.E., Son of Whyachi(also a super heavy later on), and Overkill, and for super heavyweights my favorites were Diesector, Toro, Minion, The Judge, Hammertime, and Vladiator.
Needless to say I’d love all of them to get rereleased in some form, even if just as push strikes, or even just like die cast or plastic little figurines. If it must be as the remote controlled HexBugs and a limited amount, I’d want twin packs of Ziggo/Dr. Inferno Jr., Hazard/Complete Control, Biohazard/Nightmare, and Diesector/Minion.
My favorite back in the day was Backlash, first fight I ever saw was Backlash winning a fight back in season 1 and got hooked ever since. And while this does make me want to say "make Nightmare into a Hexbug", Biohazard deserves a slot by being the most decorate bot in BattleBots history, Diesector could get a shoutout with how much modern BB references it whenever LockJaw fights, and Mechadon not because of any real reason other than Mechadon is a thing of beauty and it doesn't matter it wasn't good at the actual combat side of things, it looked great, it was amazingly technical for the era it was in (even by modern combat standards but even more impressive 20+ years ago) and it just had that presence to it

I'm still got parts of that RC Minion in the loft! As for classic robot being made into a hexbug I going to bend the rules and say I would love to see Firestorm and Panic Attack be made a rivals pack after the amount of fights they had in Robot Wars.

I worked for Wizards when we were sponsoring Cool Robots. My geek-level around that time can not be underestimated, but that's about as far as I was personally involved.
I'd love to see a series of old-school Rivals sets based on weight class. Ziggo and Backlash/Wedge of Doom, T-Minus and Hazard/S.O.B., Biohazard and Nightmare/S.O.W., Diesector and Vladiator/The Judge. The sheer variety of designs from that era was so fun, and it's not hard to see their lineages in many of the modern day machines.

So... When I was much younger. I remember Blendo being revved up by Jamie Hyneman and thinking. "That guy is gonna fall off that step ladder and that will be the end of everything!"
FF a number of years and Mythbusters came out and for some reason, I thought that MythBusters was going to be about Battle Robotics. And I was really disappointed when it wasn't.
So with that in mind, it would be Blendo and DeadBlow to keep up with the theme.
Adam Savage even did a recent video where they looked at Deadblow as Grant Imahara still had it in his workshop when he passed. Brought on all the old feels.
So yeah... Blendo because I think it was the potential closest I think anyone could have died in the old series and Deadblow for all the feels.

I would love to see a dual pack made. First robot would be Nightmare, who could ever forget the first time they saw that massive spinning disk. The second would be Disector, they were one of the first bots to use forks and wedgelets to help protct themselves and they were super destructive with that hammer.
My favourite classic Battlebots competitor is Ziggo. It would be so cool to see Hexbug try and make a full body spinner like Ziggo or Gigabyte.

Donald Hudson is still such an inspiration to the Battlebots community, so Diesector would be THE CC era bot that would need a new toy. I'd also add some attachments to the son of whyachi toy, so you can have the new and the classic looks, since it'd serve as a bridge between the new battebots and the classic era.
I know it's not a Comedy Central robot, but it is comedy central in these videos, I want a toy of Diana so I can open my toys in... over the top ways and break out of closets safely (even if it does ruin a mop or two) 😄
I would love to see Mechavore. That was one of my favorite classic era robots with a scary engine like ICEwave's, and it'd be awesome to have that as a toy. The best part is that the weapon motor wouldn't have to be quiet, cuz ICE engines are super loud and awesome to hear.
Growing up I had that same Blendo and Do All set. I lost them years ago, but I remember running them till the batteries died. I want to agree with so many others with Biohazard and Nightmare.
But I have to say, I'd love to see Deadblow get made into a hexbug toy.

I think almost everyone would love to see Nightmare make a modern showing. That thing was basically the posterchild for the franchise... before it was a franchise! (Man, if only they could have engineered it to self-right!)
They didn't make it self right, but they did make the arms flip the other way so it could drive inverted.. And there are always rumours it'll come back. Stay tuned.
I liked Biohazard and the fight it had with Whyachi. It was a cool design and would love to see something like it in the current era.
Deadblow was a favorite long before Mythbusters. It would be a great tribute to Grant Imahara as well.
We had a very successful kilobot (similar to the modern beetleweight size) up here called 3D... That stood for "Dual Do-Alls of Doom", since it was just a pair of Do-All treaded chassis linked together with a big metal wedge on the front! In terms of old school robots that would be cool to see revived/made into a hexbug, I'd love to see what they can pull off with Complete Control, which was slated to get an RC toy (one of the pro-series like Biohazard) back in the day but it was dropped due to the bot's poor performance in Season 5.0. That, and CC is the reason I build bots now.
I think I have to go with Tazbot and Biohazard. Two incredibly unique machines, and two that I'd love to see make a return in the modern era. (Especially Biohazard. It might do well if updated to modern tech.)

If I could choose two bots to have as Hexbugs I think I would have to choose Mouser Mecha-Catbot and Vlad the Impaler. Some of the most memorable bots in the early seasons, at least to me.
I'd have to go with Disector because I'd like to see Hexbug try to handle the multiple weapons (maybe make the hammers removable). And I'd also like to see a Hexbug Ronin, if for no other reason than to reward Pete for all his excellent Bot Whisperer insight.
Eighteen years and still having fun ! I can understand why - I have only just discovered battle bots this year (also Robot Wars , NHRL , and a gzillion youTube articles.
I can’t get BATTLEBOTS shows in Canada which is very sad … so i’m not familiar with the ‘old’ comedy central cast of bots. But I m guessing Tombstone and Free Shipping would be competing back in the day, so I ‘ll pick them!
Meanwhile I have to get back to learning about Fusion 360, EMCS, LIPo batteries, 3D printing, weapon design , brushless motors , wheels and hubs, wedge design, soldering, and on and on …

I like Nightmare and would love to see it made into a hexbug. It was a killer back in the day.
My favorite CC Era robot (And my choice to be a toy) would be the Judge, it could be cool to have a genuinely gigapowerful hammerbot in the line of the hexbugs as even blacksmith and beta just aren't terribly strong.
I really liked overkill. Their weapon may not have done a lot of damage, but I believe it was one of the coolest looking bots in the competition. And i think it would transition well into a hex bug nowadays. Also if I am not mistaken you and Diana actually have the original blade of Overkill!
My favorite bot from the comedy central era is definitely hazard.
As for remakes of old bots, I would choose Son of whyachi and Nightmare.
Nightmare would be my favorite to make hex bug.
I want to see toro and and the judge to be remade as a hexbug battlebots since these 2 are my personal favorite battlebots

id love to see an SOB one, because its totally doable, and, since its technically from the era, but not the same show, razor, cuz i really wanna see a gebug crusher now that we have every other major weapon type besides it.
I certainly would have have to choose Toro for my top pick of og battlebots, I love the design with his horns and the way he played like bronco, idk I just think he was really neat

Overkill was my choice for a toy remake as well! I love it so much that I recently made a fairyweight thwackbot, Killtacular. If I put a plastic blade on it, it's basically a toy! It didn't do well in combat (Bunny ripped its face off) but it was fun to design and build. I made a video on my channel showing it off!
The first fight i ever saw when i got into battlebots was SOW vs Nightmare from the cc era. my favorites from that era were Ziggo, Little Drummer boy and even though it didn't do so great, I loved Double Agent as well! However, what i would like to see in the current area more than a new biohazard (which i want as well) would be a new version of SOW as a walker or shuffler. I'm really interested in how a full body spinner would do with the walker addition and the weight bonus it would probably get from it.
I'd also like to see Diesector make a return. Even though i don't think it would do great with how the competitive field is currently, it would still be a neat robot to see in the Battlebox again
from the good old days i'd go with super mecha cat bot it had a lot of personality
I gotta say my two favorite bots from the comedy central era have to be the OG Son of Whyachi, and Diesector a very close runner up would have be Toro for me. I love all three of them, but I gotta go with SOW, and Diesector for my two most favorites.
For the bots I would love to see get made into toys or have their toy versions remade I would have to go with a remake of the OG Son of Whyachi toy at a slightly larger size with modern day electronics, and as some others here have mentioned a tribute to Grant Imahara by having a Deadblow toy made to honor his legacy as not only a Mythbuster but a fellow bot builder of the BattleBots community.
Rest in peace Grant Imahara you will be missed dearly 😔

I would like to see ziggo... For some reason he was a favorite of mine from the comedy central Era.
this is just in general. I think a SOW toy would be great especially that it was the first rookie ever to win a giant nut. If they come out with one whyachi bot is made maybe hexbug will make a hydra or fusion, even falcon or warrior clan.

My choice would be snake. It’s design was unmatched! Was it effective, not really but it goes to show the difference of design then vs now. Snake was probably the most unique design then. Today, the most unique design, in my opinion, would be Mammoth, Deep Six, or Huge.
