I love this! I'm 44 and live here now but I was brought up in the North East. Remember coming down to see me Nan and it was just the best time. Moved here as a teenager and never want to live anywhere else 😁
Great video, brought back so many memories. We moved to Windermere Road, Langley in 1958 until 1969. Went to Langley Primary and then on to Queen Elizabeth's.
Thank you Pat, that was like opening a doorway into my childhood although I was born in the mid sixties I could relate to it all, simpler happier times.
Thanks for posting. All very truel to me we had no money i eas a family of 7 children i experienced as well as my siblings. Very Happy days. Loved them. X
My Dad Garry Jukes was a Langley boy born in 1959 and passed away in 2023. Langley Primary - Langley High - Queen Elizabeth. Belle Vue every week for the wrestling, played pool, darts and football for few pubs in his time. Drank in The Falcon, Who’da, Dyers, Dusty, Woodman and more! Wish I’d found this before he passed
Fantastic! Wow! You nailed everything about growing up on Langley. Right down to Hopwood Tarzan rope. Brought back some great memories. Blew me away with its authenticity. You should, if you haven’t already, write a book like this. Great work, thanks for sharing. I mean like, sugar butties. 🙂👍
hi Liam, your uncle Mick, i went through junior school and Bishops with him. He was a real livewire, always full of beans and juvenile mischief. Good footballer, with a quick mind and quick reactions. I only bumped into him once after school and I think he was a plumber. We went on a couple of hiking holidays to Scotland( a large group of us) I only bumped into him once after school and I think he was a plumber Anything going on he wanted in, no wallflower Mick. A very likeable bloke with no arrogance and wanted to know about other people.
Hi I am Mark Micks brother. He was a live wire alright. Mick used to work for Rochdale council as a joiner. Unfortunately Mick was taken way to soon at the age of 41. 1996. Miss him we all do.

Hi, we lived on thirlmere, so all the footy stories were on Langley primary school front and back fields.
Thank you Pat, that was like opening a doorway into my childhood although I was born in the mid sixties I could relate to it all, simpler happier times.
Fabulous, my husband lived on Braithwaite Rd 1953 till 1973. This is relatable to many households in that period.
Love this, I was in the pic with Mr Brophy. Probably 1976/1977. You migh have known my brother and siser Sean & Teresa McDermott...
Thanks for that. Brought back so many memories. Especially the winter of 63. Omg, that was a cold one.
