I just finished watching this in 3 hours. Loved it! Had to slow it down to 0.75x or 0.5x and use google lens on my phone to translate to English subs. was it worth it? hell yessss, Edward Yang 🤍 I could see hints of Taipei story, terrorizers and Hsiao hsiens, Dust in the wind. This was too good for 80s Taiwan TV
for english folks: this is apparently Edward Yang’s first film, made for TV, before his short film in the In Our Times anthology / collection (1982), and before his excellent real first film That Day on the Beach (1983). I haven’t watched it yet... but... though it looks like it was shot on an old iPhone (or telescope back then??), i trust Yang had some very important things to say in his first big film, even if it was within some TV series... maybe his own little neo-realism / Tokyo Story...? there’s a night market scene!?!? oh man, this must be great!!

電視劇都用錄影帶拍的 沒法畫質修復
除非是用底片拍的 才有可能做畫質修復
