They involve the historian thinking like the person he is investigating, going through their thought processes and understanding why it was logical for that person at that time to think and act as they did". But does this not mean using the Law of Logic?
Reason is the explanation of either cause or effect if it is of cause it must be studied as before it happened and if it is of effect it must be looked as an after effect.
