There are videos which say it all started with "Rubber soul" but I object!! A lot of early songs like this and "Ask me why" I like as much as the later tunes!! CimdyStyle I'm so "glad all over" that I found your channel!!

I agree, I absolutely love their older stuff, just no nonsense pop songs that are catchy as hell. No wonder they got so popular. Plus their later music was just from them growing up, the fans grew up with them.

Nice! The melody in the verses is very strong. There is a sweetness in the sadness of the minor chord turn around.

FINALLY, this song ALWAYS gets me, it's so beautiful and sad. I have always always loved this song SO MUCH, with it going from major to minor chords. NO ONE has ever reacted to it , EXCEPT YOU. THANKS Cimdy! It IS IMPOSSIBLE to pick a "FAVORITE" Beatles song, they are ALL SO GOOD. For me there is no such thing as a "BAD" or "TERRIBLE" Beatles song.

I love this song very much, and the chord structure is amazing. Like it's being said in another comment, this early stuff has fantastic songs, not only the later stuff. Nice reaction, it's a pleasure to listen to you 👍😀

Hi Cim! Fun Facts: Del Shannon was an American singer/songwriter who had a smash international hit song, 'Runaway' (June 1961). While Del was in the UK during the Spring of 1963, he heard the Beatles latest single 'From Me To You'. Upon returning to America, Del recorded his own version of said song. Making Del the first artist to cover a Lennon/McCartney song in North America. Releasing the song in June of 1963. Before nearly every North American knew the Beatles existed. John Lennon said it was the chord structure of "Runaway" that provided the impetus for his song, I'll Be Back. RNB

Great song, I'm not saying this is the best John has ever sounded. But with this relatively simple song. I mean simple compared to other Beatles songs. His voice stands out a bit more.

Their early work has such an amazing energy to it. Irresistible, today as much as back in the old days…. Unfortunately in those days, radio stations wouldn’t play songs that were over 3 mins long. It took some years, and the advent of FM radio (in the US anyway) to get longer songs on the radio. So the groups just didn’t write them longer.

When bands want to get off-stage, to end their performance, this is one of those that leaves the crowds roaring but also settling, ready to go home in a "Now I've heard it all" sense. There just isn't anything that follows it.

This is so crispy crystal! It is Beautiful and Lennon's voice hear supreme organic clean... I love the title " I'll Be Back "... Yes CimdyS' its very short.
I love their young electrical timeless sound!! Beatles are very addictive. As a matter of fact it was their Electrical high pitch, Harmonic, experimental adventures music gave birth and created the whole Beatlemania it was themselves through hard work and faith because nobody wanted to sign them, just imagine the let downs.
So just imagine hearing the Beatles in 1957- 63... ( with various Band titles ) They were the New creation to gravitate from but with deep emotional feeling surrounding them that even men teared up in simple loving enjoyment in listening to their message of love all the time... That is what sets them apart from all the other bands.
People just enjoyed the Beatles also in their sense of humor and they never " Cursed " ...they were very professional from the beginning! ...Beatle addicted !! Lol since 64' original fan here.. I never get tired of these four bugs lol. Love them Beatles!

Hey girl you know it's amazing because this is a study in major and minor chords cuz when they start the song it's in minor and then when he says I'll be back again then it goes to a major chord and then there's the one part where they're doing these augmented minor chords which are really awesome but yeah it's really cool how it alternates from minor to Major and of course all the acoustic guitars I'm sure there's one electric guitar playing a little single note riff while the acoustic guitars are playing the big chords and strum in the chords all right my girl

Roseanna Cash has a pretty amazing version - it's a lot slower and it lacks the signature 'single-note chimes' but she sings it slowly, gloriously.

John's "ohh ohh" in the chorus is a tribute to one of his hero's in attempting to imitate his vocal style...........Charles Buddy Holly whom the Beatles took their name off of a play of Buddy's band the Crickets another John tribute to Buddy.

As always, the USA Capital Records lable albums were different...HArd Days Nigh album British Version was released in summer 1964. We never heard this song until Dec 1964 on the new release Beatles '65. British albums usually put 14 songs on albums where Capital in the USA would put 12, maybe 11, in order to make more money by releasing more "albums" our of context with th eeorginal British albums. And often with added echo or reverb...we didn't know the difference lol...This practice sopped with the release of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album in 1967. Now we have remixes all over the place which has become extremely annoying, snehting gets brought forward in volume, tone and mix, and something else lost doing that... some call it improvement, but too often it's just messing with history. Like changing a phrase or two in classic books....
