This video is amazing but the free-form is my absolute favorite! And also the locks.

well that was fun.Interesting to see so many types at once. The silk looks to be the very tightest yarn of all.

I absolutely LOVE your channel. I'm about to purchase a wheel from you. I've watched your video on how to choose one and it was so helpful. Also your chunky art yarn techniques are right up my alley. Love this whole knew art and I can't wait to get my wheel and get started. Thank you so much for all that you do.

That lumpy bumpy yarn that you like looks exactly like my first attempt at spinning yarn. Lumpy, bumpy and over and under twisted. Amazing. Im looking for consistent smooth and thin yarns. My problem is drafting and treadeling slow and in the right direction. Thinking of putting a weight on my wheel to allow it to always stop on the proper side for clockwise spinning. My wheel is only for clockwise.

I often "charge" the core-yarn in the opposite direction the core-spun yarn is going to be spun onto the wheel , hopeing when it is spun in the other direction as a core it will "rewind" into its balanced original state. Have you experience with that? Love the flax too

Just barrowed my first spinning wheel and learning how to spin. Love all that you have shared. Where do you buy all your products. The flax, silk, roaving Angelina and locks? I found a whole spool/cone of the core thread at a secondhand shop for $5, lucky me. I can't get the wheel to take the yarn on the bobbin very well yet. Watching more videos to learn. Thank you🐏❤️

    Hello,
First, I would like to say I really like your videos. :-) I'm a beginner, and I have a question. I use vegetal and synthetic fibers and I don't know how to set them. With those fiber (like flax), how do you set them ? You wash them ?? Cold water or hot water ? Or steam them ? When I put mine in water, it's not a very beautiful result. But, as I say, I'm a beginner. And I have issues with the washing part.
    Could you advise me ?
    Sylvie

Love this video! The yarn looked amazing. Just wondering how you set your corespun yarns? Would you wash them or steam them? Or is there another way? Thanks!

depends on the technique / fiber but here's a video I made for setting twist: ua-cam.com/video/6s97YphHJTA/v-deo.html

Does core spun & art yarn need to be wet set ?

    • @neauveau

Depends on the fiber and spinning method used but most of the time, yes

I'm the same, I just don't get this faddy linen/flax yarn or adding these fibres to wools or silks, in my opinion they spoil the fibre. Why would you want to waste so much time spinning flax anyway?! Or cotton possibly..no thanks.
