Richard Austin Freeman (London 1862 - Kent 1943) was a British writer of detective fiction, whose works mostly feature the medical-legal forensic investigator, Doctor John Thorndyke. Freeman himself was a surgeon, and incorporated his genuine knowledge in the field of medicine into his works.
“The Stranger's Key” is a story from “The Cases of John Thorndyke”, a collection of stories by R. A. Freeman about crime and mystery, starring Dr. Thorndyke and published in 1909.
