Tonight we speak with Andy McGrath, a Cryptozoology ‘Enthusiast’ with over 25 years of research and obsession about the unknown creatures living right under our noses, here on this tiny island in the North Atlantic.
From a wildlife point of view, the accepted fauna of The British Isles were discovered and catalogued in their finite and immoveable state in the 19th century. Nothing has really been added to this list or considered worthy since and the continual reports of Water Monsters, Bigfoot, Mystery Big Cats and UFC’s (Unidentified Flying Cryptids) are largely ignored or used as newspaper fillers to entertain us.
Andy’s focus is on current research and recent sightings, pictures, videos and eyewitness accounts of the many cryptids of the British Isles.
""Although vast advancements in science and technology have brought great discoveries in other lesser known parts of the world, our island lies largely underexplored and overlooked. At night, outside of the busy cities and next to the unlit lakes and lonely mountains it is an island in darkness, where nobody ventures into the woods anymore and the pervading paradigm scares all but the most foolhardy scientists away from any serious investigation of the many yet to be discovered"" - Beasts Of Britain
Author of Beasts of Britain, speaker and field investigator, he is also currently working on his own TV series under the same name: Beasts of Britain and his new podcast: Beastly Theories, featuring low-key interviews with researchers around the world, whilst also continuing his passion for writing about cryptids and out of place animals in other parts of the world. His new Beasts of Britain map (featuring the beautiful art of Brett Manning) is now also available to purchase online.
The second edition of Beasts of Britain will be released in February 2019, featuring new artwork, photos, chapters and expeditions; and his new title: ‘Beasts of North America’, is planned for release in December 2019.

A few years ago I was working up in Glen Douglas just off Loch lomond in Scotland, I was starting work at 0700am I got half way up the steep hill towards Glen Douglas , there is a high fence surrounded by thick bushes and trees, I stopped as it was ice on the road as the burn overflowing, I just happened to look round and seen these 2 deep red eyes peering over this high metal gate, I would say it would have been at least 7' to 8' tall as the metal gate is 5' high as I went back that afternoon and stood next to the gate, am 5'8" tall I never thought of looking for foot prints, I told my gf she just laughed at me, I've never ever mentioned it again until now, so please make your own minds up. Whoever or whatever replied that they liked my comment . They are the same powers that control the sasquach, aliens, ghosts, paranormal, disguised gods who influenced all the ancient cultures and instructed men in science and building all ancient structures. I know who you are and you are mocking and patronizing me. They are exactly the powers that also influenced men to build the. Hadron collider at CERN. That opened the spiritual floodgates of hell. Watch the polluted, lying, partially true news and tell me it isn’t the way it is. Bottom line is Genesis 3. Everything in this comment began with a lie. For GOD knows that if you eat of it, you shall be as gods. You shall not surely die.. Your Sasquatch is real, it’s just not what you think. There is absolutely no claim in Anglo Saxon literature that they actually did see "woodwose"'. That is just something a bunch of attention seeking fantasists of the modern era claim. I know some people have fooled American Bigfoot researchers with claims of a British Bigfoot, however, the idea is a stupid and laughable one. In the UK there are non of the signs of resident bipedal cryptids that are abundant in America. No footprints, no vocalisations, no tree structures, no evidence of Bigfoot animal predation, no credible sightings, no credible folklore.

People can use the Google maps with the satellite view to see how much (or how little) of forest cover there is in Great Britain. I lived in the south of England and traveled to Wales and Scotland. I would rated it from a cover and habitat perspective as definitely possible, but extremely unlikely. I wish I would have had more time. Now that live in the cascades, I chortled when he said "we have mountains..." Maybe Texas sized mountains, lol. He is right, primitive camping isn't common like it is in America (that's not too common in any of the 30+ countries I've visited). For UK BF, I remain pretty skeptical though.

@Hulk Hogan Exactly so. When they ask me if I have been anally probed I always reply, "I'm not saying it's Aliens... but, it's Aliens!" That usually pleases them. Though there is the danger that you then have to give another 45 minutes to hear how Billy Bob was taken from the deer stand in a shaft of light, and how Grandpa George had just finished molesting little Sue ad his niece when he too was grabbed from above and tested. He posted a video of the evidence of them by stick structures and a stick pushed into the ground on a trail that wasn't there on their way up on Mt. Hiba. Plus, they were paralleled. He's shared photos of a dead Hibagon found by a farmer near Mt.Hiba. Making good connections as well with other former employees of the Japanese government to record people's experiences and sightings from the Late 60's to the early 80's. The Ape Clerk. I met two climbers who had heard it following them and they ran down the mountain in terror to our farmhouse where we plied them with tea and whisky and allowed them to rest for the night. But now , NOW we hear plenty of encounters where Sasquatch are described as crawling on all fours and moving “like a spider” . Cut to Brazil(?) , I think , or Peru , and the headman of a group living in the rain forest had witnessed (along with several others) a 5’ FIVE FOOT (when it reared up on its back legs to defend itself and retain the human baby it had just stolen from a grass hut) tall tarantula .

I'm from the UK and a farmer going back 20 years there was a sheep killed on the farm it had its throat ripped out and while that fine jugular blood was spraying for 60 yards , it was dragged in a triangular pattern of 20 yards per side of the triangle . I still can't be sure what killed it , it was not a fox no where near strong enough ,the other possible culprit would be a rogue badger but again to drag to 50kg sheep that far while still spraying blood I don't buy it . One other clue was some of the wool was licked off . I really think it was a puma which there have been many sightings of said cat in this valley . One of my neighbours swears he saw one crossing a road he spoke of an animal that was a puma .
Around the same time while returning from my bottom fields on a vary dark night so visibility was limited but an animal including tail of around 9 to 10 feet long crossed the lane infront of us it didn't linger but it was big and I still am not sure what it was .

I was thinking the same damn thing... The BEIWOLF POETs description... And the crags, caves and such in SCOTLAND... Ireland too.... Plus THERE IS A LOTTA FORESTs, AND Red Deer.... I'm starting to see a pattern and it is in DEER, ELK, STAG, etc. Goats, sheep, get me.... I've had a ton of shit happen,ALL WHILE HUNTING... Where I go to hunt?? In 8 states... And I DONT GO WHERE THERE AINT GAME... There's a link to the game, the type, and the forest is secondary.... Food, shelter, water heat? Sound familiar???

Learning how little of the UK land mass is occupied by people was really interesting, makes me think of that area in a different way. Also the wildmen being depicted in churches. Churches were thought of quite differently back then. Imagine you don't really have too many other forms of intertainment, the church is your news paper, social club and essentially television. If something unusual happens, no doubt it would be discussed and maybe recorded in some way at church. The wild man may also be part of some lost parable we don't understand anymore, like knights fighting snails on illuminated manuscripts. Who knows? Interesting stuff

saw a roaming large black cat puma/leopard in Warwickshire UK.... but I only got fuzzy photos. Was not a dog - was cat or large mustelid but probably too big and quite black - def. not a badger. Saw it twice 10 mins apart. It didn't even look my way as I watched from a gateway, and it was doing cat-like things with cat-like movement (cat head profile; front low; hind high;) crossing empty fields into brush cover.

Wes; Most of the churches were actually old family named castles. My ancestors were from St Petersburg. There is a castle bearing my name. I would guess that that castle would now be a church.
As a castle, they try to show strength estaBlished or earned in the kingdom.
Most castles had Gargoyles, witch were considered evil but we're thought to be loyal to the family or castle that provided a perch for them.

That's actually reassuring to me. I know that Sasquatch exists because I had one literally pace back and forth, a few feet behind me for about 6 hours while I was outdoors at night sitting by my fire. I thought it was going to kill me but it eventually left. I was just frozen in fear. It really messed me up and kept me out of the woods for years. Now I go into the woods but I'm very worried and scared still. I want to believe that these things aren't very common so that I can feel safer in the woods

I believe it was deer though. Leigh woods is 144 acres and lies next to a gorge. It is a very popular woods but the area by the gorge is largely impassable.

I'm in a place in Ireland called The Burren, it's full of Hazelwood valleys, caves, wedge tomb's and ringforts. I've seen a cryptid, caught orb's on camera and strange athmospherics... and have had interest from people in America who want to get an interview. Sadly the Irish crowd don't have an interest in my observations and they haven't any credible footage. I've seen a Woodwose aswell, no camera footage as it walked across the road as I was driving. The ghost of Christmas present in Charles Dickins Christmas Carol could be similar to the wildman or Woodwose 👍
