I had a friend who served in Iraq, and he told me about 40% of the troops in Iraq were actually mercenaries. And their deaths were never revealed to the public, thus, those mercenaries usually got the most dangerous assignments. To be fair, the Russians are also using mercenaries to fight the war in Ukraine, Wagner itself is a "military contractor" based in Moscow, Russia. The true casualties of the Russia army should be a lot higher than what the Russian government is claiming. I would assume merc deaths are also not reported in Russia.
