    It's about the perfect speed for both guys. That cut table has worked out to be an awesome part of the set up, but then again that entire wood yard is kick ass.

      Thanks! Rick actually has plans to revamp the bucking platform and make some changes to the set up...might not see them til next Spring however when I'm back up there splitting again.

    Nicely done. As an aside, I ordered the mini firewood combo and greatly appreciate you getting it shipped the day after I ordered. Well done.

    Mornin' ( D ), kinda looks like a firewood freight train... It's killer to see you and Rick Just-a-Chuggin Along... Now she's back, and just in time to make a woodcone of your own... Stay cool Brother... Keep Pushin' On... Peace...

      Chugging along is right...it's just a nice steady flow to the work and the firewood.

    Hello Dan. That bucking table and feed platform are really efficient. The 37D is a beast.

      It makes for a pretty smooth operation, although pushing those levers can be exhausting! 😆

    One of my friends who used to own a sawmill before the anti trucking laws came in in New Hampshire went into making firewood. He brought in all the firewood poles during the summer months while trucking was permitted. All through the winter and mud season, he made firewood, all without touching the wood. His conveyor would peak up a forty foot high pile. He created a windrow of split firewood 40' high and two hundred yards long.
    He then delivered dry firewood during the summer months. This was the first I ever saw dry firewood being offered. People always used to keep two years' worth of firewood, giving their wood a chance to season.
    This was back in the early eighties.

    That conveyor set up is the best I’ve seen….the chaff grizzly to the final conveyor is perfect….biggest flaw in the whole operation is Rick needs something to catch that hook he uses…lol!

      I have that same conveyor, $150 on FB marketplace. It’s sweet for firewood and doesn’t jam

    • @RickF1558
      @RickF1558 3 дні тому

      @@brianrizzi6321doesn't jam, that's the key. I purchased 2 of the dual chain style and it was constantly getting plugged. The single chain was the ticket.

      Yep he has a little top handle saw with I think one of the Perfect Sticks on it. Easier to just switch saws between marking and cutting.

    • @Back40Firewood

      I've covered the building of and when he finished the log deck, but never really went over dimensions. He's planning on revamping it with a new and improved version by next Spring.

    You are a great buddy to lend Rick your splitter but anyone who has that much wood to split should have his own splitter . Just my opinion.

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  3 дні тому +1

      It's actually a good arrangement and sort of more in my favor. He brings me as many trees/logs as I want and removes trees for me when needed, and I take the 37D up to his woodyard a couple times a year.
