Songs that are released on spotify whether it is a cover or not are released as singles. He distributed his cover through distrokid (a music distribution website/company). Distrokid releases covers as singles. In fact, most distribution companies release covers as singles. So, he can't control how it should be credited to Taylor Swift. However, if we see his cover "Crazier", in the song credits you can see "written by Taylor Swift." So, the cover was credited to her. I'm not trying to defend him but I think we should know how music distribution works before getting mad at him in something that he cannot control (in the spotify part at least).

I don't want to argue but I feel like Taylor's right has been violated so I need to speak up. Please do not take it personally, I just want you to know where Swifties are coming from. Songs that are released on spotify whether it is a cover or not are released as singles. He distributed his cover through distrokid (a music distribution website/company). Distrokid releases covers as singles. In fact, most distribution companies release covers as singles. So, he can't control how it should be credited to Taylor Swift. However, if we see his cover "Crazier", in the song credits you can see "written by Taylor Swift." So, the cover was credited to her. I'm not trying to defend him but I think we should know how music distribution works before getting mad at him in something that he cannot control (in the spotify part at least).
