Thank you for this video! I'm building an e36 on my channel with the intention of learning about the mechanics of the car and then learning how to drift and I've been having trouble with the clutch. This is going to be my solution!
Just FYI. Ordered this kit and it DID NOT come with a SACHS pressure plate. It is not marked other than sticker that say 140 on it. Kinda misrepresented as all of their pictures clear show SACHS stamped into the pressure plate in all of their product listings.
Actually, there are two types. One is Sachs base and the other one is our own Fx Racing brand. You got the latter one, which is also very good and it’s our hottest selling item.🎉
Dont use pilot bearing, throwout bearing og bolts from these types of ebay kits. Just bin them and get OEM stuff, doesnt cost much. Sometimes it works out fine using the supplied stuff, but usually its trash. Especially the pilot bearing.
@@TheS50b30 yes i got it and yes i am happy with it, however unfurtuanetly after geting the kit, and also buying a 5 speed zf..my headgasket decided to go vacations on me, so i am in the process of getting another m54b30 for my e46
i bought one of these stage 3 clutch kits for my e46, turbo m50b28 swap. so far its holding 400hp/379ftlb @ 10psi perfectly. gonna need a bigger turbo and more fuel but we'll see if the clutch holds up
Funny I had same clutch on my vw pick up with 588hp and the clutch held up for 2 years of track use on slicks. I only changed it because I stepped up to a twin disk that I got an amazing deal on. My opinion good clutch kit! #fxclutchkits
sprung hub face toward the flywheel, having mine put in by my mechanic and he is most likely putting it backwards and is causing me headaches, it says on the website to face the hub (protruding side) toward the flywheel. edit: in the video he shows how it should go in when putting the disc on flywheel to show how he slips the clutch at 5:23
Found out the hard way, installed the potruding side PP and not flywheel side, flat on fly wheel, do not do that lol you can see in the video he labeled FLY on the protruding side
In case anyone is wondering, flat side does not face the flywheel. Flat side should go on pressure plate (blue plate). I put it on backwards and had to drop the trans to flip it, I installed it the way I just said and the way he keeps it in the video and it was just fine. Yes im going to daily and drift this clutch. Many buddies vouch for this exact clutch kit. It is a copper based clutch disc which is good because when drifting it gets hot and when a copper disc gets hot it grips way better. An organic clutch slips when it gets hot. I’ll make a UA-cam video on everything I did. I did not use the throw out bearing or pilot bearing that came with the kit. I used the bolts and got my own pressure plate bolts (12.9 M8x1.25x15mm coarse)
I upgraded to a different kit due to building a new engine, however when i took it out it was still holding fine. I saw some slipping during my last competition days but not enough to mess my runs
Looking at a stage if these for my evo10. Just has real basic mods installed intake, intercooler, boost. Controller, exhaust and tuned. Just going to be the DD. Sounds like they hold up to abuse pretty well.
RJ Contreras yeah clutch is on right. But makes a loud clicking sound when clutch is released in neutral or in gear. I can feel it in my shift knob. But when clutch is pressed it’s quite.
Joey DiCarlo It has a deformed clutch disc. The pucks were all uneven. Had them replaced and man it grabs hard. First gear always does a little burnout just to get it rolling but it’s perfect for my drift car.
I bought ebay clutch for my tdi jetta 2 an oem , an a stage 1 both are garbage the first one went in 6 months the pressure plate broke in half an now the second clutch slips so now I have to take it apart again an work on sending them back an I guess put a factory clutch in the car these after market clutch are a joke they need to take them off the market , you put a new clutch in a car it should work an longer than a few weeks or months

@@FirstLast-tx3yj there's some chatter like a 4/10. I also have metallic brakes and solid mounts, so the chatter blends in. its not super on/off, it feels like an e46 m3 clutch but a little grabbier, so pretty normal

This stage 3 fx clutch has soft pedal feel or they are stiffer than stock one?

Who'd a thunk it? 6 years and behind a turbo... noice.
Do u think it can hold the the power of e46 m3 with a active Autowerke supercharger 500 hp 465 torque
I think so yeah. But after testing a few clutch kits now, the one i currently use and its very well priced is the Action Clutch Iron Man kit.
