I always find it weird that Chang goes so far from the character he was in Season 1 to this, but I think its sorta implied that he got actual brain damage from being in the vent system when the school was gassed
Because they were required to have KJ in every episode and needed to figure out what to do with him off the cuff. Britta's characterization fluctuated way more.
"Greendale 7" is a reference to the "Chicago 7" who were put on trial as key organizers of the protests in Chicago 1968 at the Democratic National Convention.
The actor for Starburns (Dino Stamatopoulos) left because he hated playing the part. He's a well known comedy writer who's been in the business for a long time and did it as a favor to Harmon but when the part started becoming a bigger deal, he got frustrated with repeatedly having to do it, mainly because he found acting annoying. He prefers writing and doing animation in partnership with Harmon at Starburns Studios.
'I think I've heard enough, and I don't see what choice I have. Greendale Seven - Jeff Winger, Annie Edison, Pierce Hawthorn, Britta Perry, Shirley Bennett, Abed Nadir, Troy Barnes - you are hereby expelled from Greendale Community College. May god have mercy on your souls'... bruh!
The start of a three-part finale battle for the soul of Greendale. 3.18, 3.19, 3.21. Loved the dvd commentary for this season's final stretch of four episodes.
Season 4 isn't even necessarily bad TV, it's just bad compared to the rest of Community which is amazing. Just truck through it, seasons 5 and 6 to me are just as good as seasons 1-3!
woah, maybe I'm late to this but I just noticed: is Starburns' one-armed lawyer a reference to Evil Jeff? The missing arm was his right, the same one Jeff lost in the darkest timeline!
Well on the one hand, Abed did see him, but on the other hand, he did clarify that this lawyer was missing his right arm, the same arm Jeff lost in the darkest timeline.
Starburns lives on. Dan Harmon, Joe Russo & some others founded Starburns industries in 2010 (you'll see them credited in some early episodes of Rick & Morty). Dan parted with them in Jan 2020 but the company lives on offering animation, stop motion, voiceover &audio recording, etc.
Honestly I always felt like seasons 5-6 were worse than 4, even though Harmon was back at that point. Though that may have been because of certain actors leaving. I still enjoyed 4 quite a lot, though the first three seasons will always be the best.
No season 4 is noticeably worse There are great episodes but the point is that they dropped the ball with their seasonal arch and character development
First time I saw it, I didn't even know that the creator left. Only knew about it after season 5. I barely got through season 4 because the quality really dipped. The tone, the humor, almost everything imo was different. It didn't feel like the same show
At this point you're never going to find a viewer who hasn't heard anything but shit-talking about the quality of season 4, and the funny thing is that even people who liked it well enough before hearing other people's opinions will start to hate it retroactively when they do hear the shit-talk. One of the ways you signal yourself as a Community fan online (ESPECIALLY if you came to it late) is to hold season 4 as shitty, and if you don't, then other fans will come at you trying to convince you your opinions are wrong.
I guess I appreciate you saying "most people" because personally, I watched Community as it aired, and I totally expected season 4 to be fine without Harmon, since they kept most of the same writing staff. However, season 4 was so bad to me. The plot ideas were still creative, but the jokes and characters were really sub-par. But I will say, the third season had a few episodes that I thought weren't good either, and so season 4 to me felt like a bunch of the worst season 3 episodes, and not just some huge drop-off.
well they later call it the gas leak year for a reason. But its not as that bad as people say imo. Sure its worse after they fired Don Harmond but not terrible. Even the worst episode of Community is better then other tv sitcoms
I thoroughly enjoy all the seasons even the sixth one sure it gets weaker as the show goes on but by the end of the third season I was heavily invested in the characters
Re-watching this, the group starting with Jeff, is completely responsible for the riots. Chang and his guards didn’t retaliate until the students starting causing damage. This is why the other students hate them in season 4.
Rana doesn't even laugh... she just says filler words and phrases. "No!" and "What the fuck!" and "What's happening" and "C'mon." Like I'm confused whether or not she understands what she's watching. It feels like she's just saying things to say things. Just an observation because she's not like this is recent reactions.
The reason why she wasn’t laughing in this reaction (alongside with the last two that were filmed the same day) is because she recently broke her jaw and has it wired shut for 6 weeks. They explained what happened two episodes ago.
I always laugh at how much Marketa's face lights up whenever Garret is on screen.
Crisis ALERT!
I cant wait to see how she reacts to the episode dedicated to him in Season 6 and the twist it has
I always find it weird that Chang goes so far from the character he was in Season 1 to this, but I think its sorta implied that he got actual brain damage from being in the vent system when the school was gassed
He was already crazy.
But never unhinged til recently
No the backstory episode reveals he got experimental monkey fever from Annie's boobs, which britta released from a testing facility.
That monkey gas can really mess you up.
Because they were required to have KJ in every episode and needed to figure out what to do with him off the cuff. Britta's characterization fluctuated way more.
Surprised you guys didn't notice the fake dean is the DJ from the bah mitzvah where Chang got his gang of kids.
Bar mitzvah
Specifically, he was a Moby impersonator, which is a callback to a line from Troy in the first season about how the Dean looks like Moby.
Nobody got it the first time
And his dj name was Faux-By
And the actor, JP Manoux, played Moby in an episode of How I Met Your Mother.
"Greendale 7" is a reference to the "Chicago 7" who were put on trial as key organizers of the protests in Chicago 1968 at the Democratic National Convention.
Whoa!
It connects with current events now too. Watch
Chicago 8*
Ale Bobby Seale likes to be differentiated. The Chicago 7 terminology was out of respect to him.

Ah.. good inside info to have that makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
I love how much Marketa loves Garrett. Anytime he’s in an episode I love her reactions.
The rest of this season is great episodes every one.
"Promise me you'll use restraint."
"Yup, every type we got!"
dude, his name is Alex.
why don't he carve *that* into his face then?
The arrival of the "Dopple-Deaner' :) (AKA the Moby impersonator from the Bar Mitzvah they all worked earlier.)

The song playing in the Starburns video was Danny Pudi singing and Donald Glover doing the hook with Danny.
Season 4 isn't even necessarily bad TV, it's just bad compared to the rest of Community which is amazing. Just truck through it, seasons 5 and 6 to me are just as good as seasons 1-3!
definitely not as good as seasons 1-3
I do like season 5 and 6
Alex is coproducer with harmon on most of his shows.
Who's Alex?
fun fact - they "killed him of" because he hates being on camera
Robert Corbett Starburns. His real name is Dino Stamatopoulos.
@@wyler5725 Was a joke. **woosh**
He has an stop motion animation studio that also made Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas.
Wow this is really ironic to watch this in todays society at the moment
woah, maybe I'm late to this but I just noticed: is Starburns' one-armed lawyer a reference to Evil Jeff? The missing arm was his right, the same one Jeff lost in the darkest timeline!
Well on the one hand, Abed did see him, but on the other hand, he did clarify that this lawyer was missing his right arm, the same arm Jeff lost in the darkest timeline.
No. That's not real. Plus Abed knows what Jeff looks like.
Man I just want to binge the last few episodes. We're about to hit the full peak of the show imo.
Garret singing Ave Maria is so good one of my faves lol
2 more until the video game one
1 more
Even when Jeff isn't a lawyer he still lawyers bretta's statements
Did they seriously cut out the "Cmon I'm Dean" part?
They didn't have any reaction to it
The teacher quit he wasn’t fired lol do y’all not listen ?
It looks like they never.
I kind of feel like him quitting was really out of character because he was a man with a code.
This episode has Seinfeld finale vibes
y'all not ready for this season finale! 😬

OK Ya'll need to watch some young justice, maybe not now, but soon.
the darkest timeline
“Is it always about the Holocaust with you people.”
I initially thought this was the season finale!
#13yearsofcollegedownthedrain - nice Animal House reference!
DJ Steve porter remix of season 3 is LIT!!!!!!
Season 5 and 6 are as good as season 3, so don’t give up on it during season 4
Well this just took a turn
Season 4 isn’t bad, but it is noticeably worse than other seasons.
3:41 -- WHY! DID HE STOP TALKING?!
16:21 the mandalorian (2019)
14:02 every uprising ever
Honestly I always felt like seasons 5-6 were worse than 4, even though Harmon was back at that point. Though that may have been because of certain actors leaving. I still enjoyed 4 quite a lot, though the first three seasons will always be the best.
ugh can you guys stop this 'i heard season 4 was too bad' crap? it's really not that bad. most people hate it cuz dan harmon was fired and that's it.

Watch _F Is for Family_ next! It’s a REALLY GOOD show.

Pat is so cute
hope that it's not a spoiler feel like one of the best episodes is in season four though
You REALLY should watch Digital Estate Planning after THIS episode. It flows better instead of cutting into the overall story.
I agree. thats better flow
React to the haunting of hill house!!!
kinda bummed that you guys heard that S4 sucked, cause from now on it has filled your opinions....
When are you gonna upload the 100 ?
New here, what's the timer for?
It says right above the timer; Fair Use. They can only show 9m59s of footage.
Guys Season 4 is not that bad. I like it more then Season 6.
Dan Harmon returns for season 5 and 6.
Hey guys react to the seven deadly sins please . Would you ?
I feel like the ability to open your mouth should have been a criteria for being on screen
Season 4 is great!!!! It's better than 6 for sure
HA nope
