HELLO!(: I read that you study Korean Studies in Sheffield Uni? I wanted to go on to do that course and was wondering about your thoughts on it? About what you want to do for the future and your experience.

Sadie Bee Hi! Nice to meet you :) Yeah I do~ Hmm it's not bad but we are lacking a lot of Korean staff so it can be a bit frustrating as I want to do more about Korea. However the year abroad was great and it really helps build your character I think. :)

kimchi501 do you think it's worth all the money? did you ever struggle money wise? how was the year abroad structured? they don't just leave you in korea to fend for yourself do they? i'm approaching my last year of college and i really would like to take this course but i'm not sure about the career paths I could go in to. Sorry i'm asking many questions but I really don't know what to do. I am going to the sheffield open day on july 11th and i don't know what to expect. I also have no idea what to write in my personal statement to get accepted on to that course haha.

Sadie Bee Well you do need the money otherwise you will probably struggle. As for the year abroad the allocate you in a Korean university and you have to pass a certain level of the Korean language program there. However you need to find your own accommodation which is really stressful for someone at a beginner's level in Korean.The personal statement isn't that hard as long as you show you are very passionate they'll accept you. For me I am not entirely satisfied but I also feel I've gained a lot of experience from the course. Sorry for such a late reply I moved out recently and didn't have time to reply. Hope this helps. :)
