I AM buying this game when it comes out. The only other game i recent memory that I've been actively committed to following was Sonic Frontiers. If a skeptic fan like me is actually interested in the newest release, then that means that SEGA is playing their cards right.
Rail Canyon actually makes perfect sense since it and Seaside Hill were the 2 stages in the Sonic Heroes demo and Bullet Station and Egg Albatross are where we first see the pods and a broken Shadow Android respectively
Something I want to note is that for Sonic Superstars there was an upgrade to get the content for the Digital Deluxe edition for the base game, so the same thing could possibly happen for Sonic X Shadow Generations
Still don’t get why you people think the sonic generations story still looks the same, they did improve the graphics. It was a little more good looking in this trailer, and at least the adventure sonic skin also gives me a reason to replay sonic generations again

Then 8 years later they put Team Sonic Racing out (a month before the Crash Team Racing remaster mind you), & just let the game fend for itself. No DLC tracks, no DLC characters, no NOTHIN'.
My theory is that the shadow portion will have chaos emerald powers, potentially similar to superstars It'd be so fucking cool if they actually implemented something like that into a 3d game

I don’t like the extended prologue being exclusive to PlayStation. Especially since Xbox, Switch or PC don’t get anything exclusive to my knowledge. Also the architecture in the hub world for Shadow Generations kind of reminds me of Soleanna. It may just be a coincidence though.
With how Sega has been releasing a lot of games recently with content locked to the physical and or digital deluxe version, I'm not particularly a fan of version exclusive content on top of that. Also Ican't help but think that it would make more sense to release a physical PS4 version with a free/payable upgrade to the PS5 version.

That's not correct. Gameplay has already released of brand new shadow levels not seen in Generations and the level design is completely different as well. And the game's website separates the two games because they are different campaigns as confirmed by the website and director

Also information was data mined from the meta data of the video that hints at the idea of two acts per zone like the vanilla campaign also the Japanese SonicOfficial Twitter confirmed the Drop Dash's inclusion, interestingly this confirmation lines up with information that was also data mined the initial announcement trailer of two videos of both Modern and Classic both having the drop dash.
I don't like how the only way you can get the legacy skin for Switch is the physical launch, you can't get the skin for the digital deluxe and standard versions. Why Sega? I might be dumb and the reason might be obvious but idk.

First time as a newer sonic fan (like, last year i started to become one) that I’m like kicking my feet up and screaming about a new sonic game. This is actually amazing and i am so excited.
I feel from what they learned from Colors Ultimate, origins plus, and frontiers DLC- are making atone to add a brand new story line via Shadow’s campaign. I actually want my hopes high because with the sound of season pass, they can possibly remake old stages from Sonic’s past to be full fledged stages with amazing visuals. With the skins, they have a large set of skins that would look great for generations even if it’s obscured or unusual. The future looks very much h more promising ever since the 2021 Sonic direct though the difference is that colors ultimate and origins plus didn’t release in the proper state it did (or rather had controversy)

This pretty much confirms my suspicions that Shadow Generations is the Bowser's Fury of the Sonic universe, combining half of the game that's being remastered(Sonic Generations) and the other half being the latest Sonic game(Sonic Frontiers)

FR Shadow is seriously OP but they gotta nerf him for the main hero to shine. Maybe Sonic will get a surprise power up one day.
Shadow will finally accept his black side. I mean considering he always carried a gun he was always in touch with his black side but you know even more now!

The sonic heroes stage is bullet station and i remember after beating that boss for that zone metal sonic copies data from shadow thats why i think it was included

This might become one of my favorite Sonic games of all time. Unleashed still hold 1st place though. We shall see if that changes once this game is released
