The REAL tell that this is a scam is the lack of specifications. People who really know tech won't touch something we can't get the specs on. That's both because of the scam potential and because not knowing your specs makes certain workloads impossible. The technology being proposed here would be impossible without a private ISP/cell network.
I repair phones for a living, and this shit is hilariously impossible. For one, any cell phone is location trackable as long as it’s within range of a compatible cell tower (ie. “has bars”) or is connected to Wi-Fi. That’s how cell reception works lol. So unless you want a phone that can’t make calls, send anything, or access the internet, and is essentially just a touchscreen Gameboy with no game cartridge, then you cannot say a phone has no location tracking. This is literally false advertising. The only possible way around this would be to build their own dedicated Freedom cell towers, but this would be financially impossible due to the astronomical cost of doing so, since cell towers are usually built by one company which then “collects rent” from other carriers that need a tower in that location for coverage. It’s almost never a single company alone, simply because of the massive construction and operation costs of a single cell tower, let alone hundreds of them. And “renting” the use of a tower owned by a company other than Freedom Phone would mean signing contracts with said company, which would require the disclosure of cellular data passing through their tower. This guy really rivals my septic tank in terms of being full of shit.

I saw Erik Finman at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
He tried starting this ed-tech company and went into one of the tech FB group (Hackathon Hackers) asking for "technical cofounders". He would never explain any of his ideas without using weird platitudes and clichés. He got roasted in the group.

The REAL tell that this is a scam is the lack of specifications. People who really know tech won't touch something we can't get the specs on. That's both because of the scam potential and because not knowing your specs makes certain workloads impossible.
The technology being proposed here would be impossible without a private ISP/cell network.

I repair phones for a living, and this shit is hilariously impossible. For one, any cell phone is location trackable as long as it’s within range of a compatible cell tower (ie. “has bars”) or is connected to Wi-Fi. That’s how cell reception works lol. So unless you want a phone that can’t make calls, send anything, or access the internet, and is essentially just a touchscreen Gameboy with no game cartridge, then you cannot say a phone has no location tracking. This is literally false advertising.
The only possible way around this would be to build their own dedicated Freedom cell towers, but this would be financially impossible due to the astronomical cost of doing so, since cell towers are usually built by one company which then “collects rent” from other carriers that need a tower in that location for coverage. It’s almost never a single company alone, simply because of the massive construction and operation costs of a single cell tower, let alone hundreds of them. And “renting” the use of a tower owned by a company other than Freedom Phone would mean signing contracts with said company, which would require the disclosure of cellular data passing through their tower.
