We are so excited to unveil the next portrait in our #1in3 series, highlighting just how common it is to have a criminal record.
✨Meet Brock✨
After becoming involved with the criminal justice system at just 12 years old, Brock would go on to have numerous encounters with the law throughout his adolescence and early adult life. After being given a second chance at treatment by a judge, Brock was able to turn his life around. Now, at 29 years old, Brock is an interim clinician counseling justice-involved individuals, is the co-founder of his own non-profit, FourLifers Inc., and is a graduate student in the College of Social Work at the University of Utah.

This story is part of our #1in3 campaign, a project to end the stigma and raise awareness of how common it is to have a criminal record.
1 in 3 Americans has a criminal record, which is a lot more common than people think. No one expects to be involved in the justice system, but it can happen to anyone. People of all ages, backgrounds, genders, and income levels are involved in the justice system. Their pathways vary, but the barriers of a record affect them all. Our hope is that by sharing their portraits and telling their stories, we can change the way people think about people with records and appreciate them for all they have overcome.
