Correction about Sanctum (thanks to Aegaroth for pointing it out in the Discord): One of the rule's bullet points says that you measure everything from the Sanctum instead of the model inside, so it is possible to land a charge with the model if the enemy so desires. I (Ryan) was originally reading it as just the spells the Wizard casts and/or abilities from the model are projected from the model, but failed to take into account that this applied to everything.. In my opinion, this makes the sanctum notably worse of a defensive buff, but in any case, what I said in the video about it not being able to be used offensively (casting it while you're already in combat) still holds. And yes, as Flkt42 mentions elsewhere in the comments, the Sanctum is very large! Evidently large enough for even a Cow Mountain!
Happy that you made a new video for LRL despite the fact that the article didn't give us a lot of new info. I can't wait to see the full rules and am excited to probably have it as my main faction for 4th edition. It's crazy how you come up with all these videos so fast, they pop faster than I can watch them. Keep up the good work!
The sanctum looks great, atleast interesting. Any caster would love a 4+ ward and am extra cast. Also for the people down on the article. I think gw thought it was a gift giving you guys the showcase battle. And they decided to show the same models for people who missed it. Skaven is the poster boy bad guys so makes sense they get alot more shown off.
Yeah, I get the argument of showing something again for the people that haven't seen it. That doesn't mean I understand why most articles include their god models but ours doesn't though. But hey, I'm over it now and I'm super happy that everything we've seen so far is good or playable!
@strategoi yeah that's fair! Maybe they are trying to mix it up? Some get their named character, some just get their vanilla version and some get another big model. I guess lumi didn't get any big models but pretty sure yous got alot of models in the preview match? Like the bug cow? So realistically you guys got almost what the poster boys got which is alot more then everyone else so they got it good imo. Yeah i thought the scrolls previewed looked pretty good!
You and me both (on both fronts). The fact that nothing has really disappointed me so far is baffling to me. I feel super lucky to be an LRL player right now 😁 Here's hoping we don't get hammered on points.
As a newer lumineth player what are staples I should be painting up for 4th? I have 10 wardens and 5 dawn riders done that’s it. I’m mostly worried about infantry since they take so dang long to paint nice. Would love your input.
I would just wait until the 15th of July when 4e comes out, it's only a month away and we don't know the points of anything. That being said there's always the age old advice of pick the models you like the look of since rules/points change, models don't. (bladelords potentially looking real nice though we don't know the real warscroll technically)
Whole lot of 4+ and 5+ wards here.... Really losing that feeling like you've got something special as nurgle. Also curious how it's going to affect STD with all these fights first rules and anti-charge and generally lower damage combat. When I ran them often the focus was around strong charges that blasted through who they hit so they didn't get stuck in combat. I'm hoping that they give some way to compensate for all this so that cavalry can feel like cavalry, I mean they can push through but more ways to cycle charge without getting super punished for it. Ways to ensure you still fight first or at least do some serious damage on the charge before a unit can fight first. But yeah not an LRL guy but this looks fun and pretty strong. It's interesting to see when most damage has been tuned down the couple of units that hit like a truck and even harder than They used to.
Great write-up. I agree that cavalry might be in a weird place yet again. We'll have to wait and see. Lots of wards also surprised me, to be honest. That's been true for a lot of armies so far, which is even more surprising... 🤔
I believe that you miss the combo lord regent with perfect strike charging with 10 dawnriders using double activation + bonus from lord regent adding +1 attacks , seems very strong espcially againts infantry
The lumineth seems cool for their model design also their like theme and lore Quick question how should I start a lumineth army besides buying a vanguard?
Personally I hate the super God models, I think it would be a much better game without the likes of teclas and Marathi running around. Also wish you had a build your own hero option for competitive play.😊
God models have been something that makes AOS stand out though, but they've also been in a weird place, because they can never be as good as they should be. It's like primarchs in 40k. So I can definitely see why you feel the way you do. I still like it a lot though, because it's totally badass 😁
Ah, also, there's been this Forge thing a couple of years ago where you could build your own hero. So they've given that a shot. I imagine they probably find it too hard to balance? Personally, I thought the 'forged' were always super plain. That being said, I'd love for a 'build your own hero' option too, but I always understand why that's a risky thing to include.
I like em. They beautiful centrepieces and spice up the lore feels. Most of the time they arebt auto include unless the roster is small and sometimes they are just too pricy. Also pricy irl but thats why its so important pick a faction you love the model asthetic/painting and possibly lore then itll have way more value.

Thank you so much! It takes quite a lot of effort, but the amount of positive comments like yours really is a big motivator for us. ❤️
Waited the whole day for your video 😊
I totally share your excitement about the twins! Super flexible!
Please don't make them super expensive, GW gods. 🙏
Yet another fantastic & informative video, thanks guys for all of your awesome reviews 🙏
You guys are quick. Quality content, you have a new subscriber.
Thanks, Paul!

Great review as always!
Sanctum actually even fits the Avalenor, so Eltharion is valid target for it
Oh my god, really? Damn, I had no idea. I think I proxied it once and then never put it on the table. Thanks for the heads-up.
I'm so hyped for Lumineth in 4th Edition! Disappointed that Teclis or Eltharion weren't previewed but what I've seen looks pretty good 🙂

++ for Baldelords, they should be good
Also Sevireth (even if overcosted) will be super fun to play
I'm painting 10 windchargers because they will see play, I guarantee it. Bladelords will probably be fine as well
Also consider getting the shrine luminor painted up 👍😁
Great work as always! Shame gw didn't share a couple more new warscrolls for this faction focus but c'est la vie I guess.. 🙂
The only upside I see to this, is that I'll probably get to review Teclis 4.0 for the first time with you there, Sieg! 😁
@@strategoi He he now that is something definitely to look forward to!! I can't wait for the indexes to be released and all the fun to begin!! 😁

Ask me again in a couple of weeks 😁 the vanguard is where I would start, yes, and then probably the temple!

LOL i would Build the son of teclis and morathi then… combat beast with only 3 wounds per turn with 4 casts on an auto 10 😈
