- I wake up early on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 to check the signals once again. As I usually expect, we have a green over red over red on the eastbound signal near the Suffolk peanut factory. This time, I decided to film the train in Portsmouth. I jump on 460 and hope that the sky gets brighter by the time the train comes. I decided to film at the Portsmouth Blvd. crossing, which consists of a set of really old cantilevers. Enjoy, as the eastbound manifest rolls through Portsmouth Blvd. at 8:09a.m.. This location is about three miles from the end of the line. This train will stop just past this crossing and wait to get permission to enter Portsmouth's Pinners Point Yard. This is the longest I have ever seen this eastbound train get. I was surprised to see a few hoppers cars and even an FURX rock hopper. Compared to recent filmings of this train, I would never have thought this eastbound mixed freight could be so long, as I normally see him with maybe twenty freight cars. Enjoy!
Nice shot! I LOVE the 1930s style cantilevers. Those things are ANCIENT! Too bad they have that electronic speaker on it instead of an old US&S Teardrop bell!

The last time I caught him he had either 56 cars or 60 something cars and one was a depressed flat car. I haven't uploaded the video yet but I will soon. Get location for this video. It is also grain season so the trains will be getting longer.
