One of the best at it. He had his own unique style. When the beat dropped he did him 100% no matter what new dance styles were out. Mr. Wave did his thing. Much respect.
Mr wave🌊so overlooked and underrated but absolutely amazing mesmerizing , hypnotizeing😳 you get me ! . This dope ass popper / bboy was in beat Street big props goes out to NYC breakers which along wit Breakin well Breakdance which i watched before beat street a thousand times inspired me to start popping and being a bboy . So my true real inspiration coz of my age was Turbo aka Micheal Chambers or boogaloo shrimp he got that name coz is sister gave him a jacket with that name on back fact Believe me ! . Blessed yeah I'm out peace . ✌🧢🎧🤖💯
@@loweni7460 Theres a big difference Boogaloo Shrimp was a outstanding bboy no doute but I started to watch and admire Michael Jackson a few years before the movie "Breakin" . MJ was a top tier all round dancer & performance artist but rumour as it that boogaloo along wit poppin taco did gave him some help along wit jeff Danials wit the back slide / moonwalk but they both inspired me in my love for music in general then hip hop and later on becoming a bboy the two were truely pure qaulity to watch ✊ .. Bless up✌📿💯
Hot damn, I miss this dancing in the early stages of hip hop when I was coming of age! Mr. Wave had a unique style that was outstanding. Looked like he had no bones in his body at times...Much love & respect!
Mad respect for Mr. Wave! I remember in "Beat Street" he does this 360 while he's gettin down and I started using that move as soon as I saw it, thanks Mr. Wave!!👍 I commented before I finished video, he does it at 2:48
@@PaulPaid I was into a few decent styles of boogaloo when I was younger.. Poppin, waving, locking and breakin.. Taco was my hero but Mr Wave is up there with the greats too!! 😎👌🏻💥💯
Hmmmm not sure what you mean. We, I say we because I was 13 and a B Boy through and through) didn’t pop lock. Just like most west coast didn’t break. We did waves and tickin on the feet. Very, very few pop locked. It was old for B Boys to do it, but west coast kept it up. Poppin was way out on the east coast by the turn of the decade of the 80’s. B Boyin was it. I’m definitely not making it an East bs west. I’m just saying the west brought poppin into the homes of the east due to soul train and the show What’s Happenin. My personal opinion has always been the west have street cred to what would become hip hop. Sure, the west didn’t have the music yet, but that poppin and lock-in was a form of hip that I don’t think get it’s just due
@@Keepdapocket Electric Boogie boys either morphed to "Hip Hop dance" like buddah Stretch or adopted the OG styles from the west like Wiggles. Now a days poppers look more like Breakin than Beat Street.
@@itsjemmabond Nice link, every time I saw that ad it makes me laugh, the track works as well. I had no idea that was Mr Wave, you can see it’s definitely his style. There are people that think it’s not real and that it’s computer effects....😂🤣

Boogaloo shrimp is so underrated easily one of the best dancers of all time without him Michael Jackson's moonwalk would look bland

I kinda wish NY poppers further developed and differenciated instead of learning Westcoast styles.

An awesome body popper.Would love to have seen him take on Boogaloo Shrimp,’TURBO’ from Breakin.
WheW! Mr. Wave was the 5hi7 but I’d have to give the nod to Turbo. Just as long as Turbo didn’t start breaking, he would have taken it…
