      thekingofmoney2000 that's because they don't have them, so they don't have a name for them, so I think you could just use tilde to name them in English :)

    Latinos: The accents always kill me
    Me: Try learning French (é,è,ê,ë, and ç)

    • @jorgejavierlaborde6623
      @jorgejavierlaborde6623 4 роки тому

      It happened to me when I learned french, but in the case of french is just memory or more subtle. The special c is the equivalent of every c in spanish that i like a s. and the trick for Ê is that try looking at the word and add an s after the e. You will notice that some words sound the same as some in english or spanish. Like forêt = forest, , fête = “fest(ival)”, intérêt = interest. Hope this help

    I can speak both languages, but I'm not that high in vocabulary. I should try to add bigger words into my languages so I could at least feel like I could speak a language. You see? I'm so repetitive. My spelling is getting worse too. My Spanish vowels are trying to interrupt my English. That's not so great. I'm trying to push myself into bigger books like the Shadowhunter series, Harry Potter, or maybe complete the second series of Percy Jackson(Heroes of Olympus? Yes?). Whoever read this, you are truly gifted. Thanks for waisting your precious time. 😊

    I'm also terrible with accents, but I did fairly well. I'm not that confident in my spanish (it's my fourth language), but watching pero like videos (especially those about being bilingual when english is my second language) is making me feel pretty good. knowing multple languages is the shit! I encourage everyone to learn, it's not too late.

  • @beebikinis
    @beebikinis 7 років тому +26

    Tbh it's kinda comforting that they don't even necessarily know accents and such, in French and Spanish classes the teachers pay way too much attention on that imo. It's not easy to know many languages, especially when you have to translate something, you always know the word in some other language but not the one you're supposed to use lol. To me the most important thing is to understand and be understood.

    THE TRANSLATIONS ALWAYS FUCK ME UP. I took a spanish for native speakers course and they always had us translating sentences. It was so hard because you are technically correct, but not as correct as you should be. And THAT my friends, is the bilingual struggle.

  • @willcookmakeup
    @willcookmakeup Рік тому

    Yeah I'd say most people who don't speak fluently but took years of Spanish in school would be more trained in and have the accents drilled into their brains. Just as these guys, with English being their second language, probably remember more about English grammar than those of us who have English as our first language

    I'm Venezuelan. Spanish is my mother tongue and the only thing that I can say is: Os entiendo en inglés una sola palabra puede tener muuuuuchas palabras como traducción en español y es DIFICIL pasar algo de inglés a español (a la inversa es mucho más simple). Y las tildes son difíciles a veces, vamos como que las damos desde primaria y en secundaria y aún así nos joden muchas veces.

    • @jcosk8
      @jcosk8 7 років тому +3

      Menuda estupidez. Cualquier idioma puede traducirse a otros idiomas de muchas maneras, si tienes formación o experiencia como traductor no es ni más ni menos complicado pasar de inglés a español que de español a inglés.

    • @thekingofmoney2000
      @thekingofmoney2000 6 років тому

      El ingles tiene muchas mas palabras que el espanol, lo que sucesde es que en ingles no nececistas un vocabulario amplio para expresarte. Por eso el ingles se ha convertido en la lingua franca del mundo.

    • @lucasvillar4651
      @lucasvillar4651 6 років тому +1

      El inglés tiene más palabras que el español porque tiene todo duplicado! En inglés existe la versión germana (original) y la latina (importada), puedes decir "strange" o "weird", "meat" o "beef", "honest" o "truthful"... Tienen más palabras porque la mayoría de ellas son lo mismo pero procedentes de lenguas diferentes una del latín y otra del proto-germánico, pero el inglés no tiene más conceptos por ello. En español casi todo el léxico es del latín como la lengua madre que es, a veces entra el árabe por la conquista de España o el proto-germánico por la oleada de visigodos de Suecia a España... Por ejemplo, _alcázar_ es la versión árabe de _palacio,_ ambas existen en español pero no hay un nuevo concepto, las dos son lo mismo aunque signifique tener más léxico! Es igual que _edil_ y _alcalde_ o _almuerzo_ y _comida_ ... En inglés pasa en un 45% de la lengua, en Español sólo en un 8% de la lengua aproximadamente. *Es decir el inglés está duplicado!*
      El inglés es la lengua franca por el peso económico del mundo anglosajón, no por ningún otro motivo, en sus tiempos era el latín y de simple no tiene nada!

    • @lucasvillar4651
      @lucasvillar4651 6 років тому

      jcosk8 no es ni más ni menos complicado cierto, pero muchas veces pasar de una lengua a otra requiere más que una simple traducción, hay palabras en español que no existen en inglés, no es algo 1/1. No es más difícil porque lo mismo pasa del inglés al español, algunas existen en inglés y no en español.

    I don't speak Spanish but I do know that, like English, there are dialect differences that would mean a correct sentence in one dialect wouldn't necessarily be correct in another one.

    • @artemisa1523

      That only happens in some regions that use ´´Vos´´ instead of ´´Tu´´ as the second person of the singular (´´you´´ in English). That's my case, as an Argentinian I use ´´Vos´´ so a have to accentuated verbs differently. But the norms to accentuate are the same in every Spanish speaking country, so I know ho to accentuate the conjugation with ´´Tu´´ even if I don't use it.

    I speak, read and write perfectly in Spanish since I was in Mexico during my middle school and high school. My first years I really struggled with spanish but after the first year I was very good. One thing I could never learn were the accent Marks. Still don't know them. Luckily, they do not exist in English, which is my first language. 😁
