Van Buskirk is Dutch which is very close to German. Although Van is Dutch, Von is German. I’m headed there this coming weekend or possibly the next. I’ll do some of my own research. By the way Van Buskirk means little church in the woods. You may know already that many names were Americanized, such as Smith. So I hardly believe it has a German history without German names being in the graveyard. Don’t get me wrong I’m in no way trying to make an argument. I’m going to have fun camping 🏕️ by the lake and just leisurely checking out the park. I’ve found many old fossils and at the tops of the surrounding hills was where most if not all were found. I’d like to give many thanks to Brian Epler who at one time placed many blue bird boxes at the dams end of the lake. As some may know the bluebird was on the endangered list when Brian made the boxes and put them out there over thirty years ago. Since then they are now no longer endangered thanks to Brian and many others. The Boy Scouts of America 🇺🇸 did build boxes and the fall back was the squirrels loved the taste of the glue that was used in making plywood etc. so most were eaten and if you know where to look they are partially still there. When they mowed the fields at the lakes dam they mowed over the boxes Brian had made. Be nicer if they haven’t already have volunteers to recreate the lovely environment that once was. The park has gone through many political times of those who care and those who might have cared yet for other reasons than nature being the sole interest involved. Thanks for your video and G-d Bless our beautiful natural parks in our backyards! Sincerely Grateful, Howard Jackson Buskirk Walked the trails before they were called trails and now being retired and a bit slower at moving this Park is such a beautiful park with a rich history ❤️.
Some may know but never put a cooper nail in a tree, it will kill it. So use rubber tie down to go around the tree to hold your bird box to the tree. So much to say of this park ! One time four wheelers were allowed then politics ran them out but if I’m not mistaken they are back. 😢 only my opinion but I also know people with four wheelers have to have a place to play and bicycles, mountain that is well rather ruin a peaceful walk around the park, not to mention the horse enthusiasts but maybe we can all in the name of our love for our Great State find a happy medium ✨❤️✨😊✌🏼.
Busted a gut at that "GET OUT" sign

The interior is reminiscent of the Economy Inn on 7th St
You're not wrong.
Visited that on accident a few months back, hope you visited Eaton while you were there
I haven't yet. I had planned to the same day I was out there but overbooked my day. I'm going to try to get out there before the end of summer.
@@AbandonedPKB it's definitely worth checking out. If you go past it about a mile there's another collapsed tunnel there as well
Brum is my family and we’re German, Magdelina brum is my 3rd great grandma
The stains on the ceiling are kind of interesting. The one at 3:00 looks almost sinister. Or it could just be my imagination!
My volume is turned up but I can bearly hear you. Interesting though
It does sound a little low. I was just using my camera's mic. I'm buying an external mic soon which should help.
