Glad it was useful! No matter the type of bow (heavy/light, stiff, flexible, etc) it should have a decent bounce if you're interested in buying it. Find the balance point and check where the bow likes to bounce best, and if it's in a comfortable spot. Then check string crossing bouncing to see how agile it is, and make sure it has a sautillé (rapid spiccato) that requires little effort on your part and seems even. If you aren't comfortable in your ability to check for bouncing, have a friend or teacher play on the bow for you! It's always a good idea to have others try your bow to see what they think. Good luck in the buying process!
Hi! Pour cette vidéo c'était Pirastro Passione La / Re et Thomastik Spirocore Do / Sol, mais après cette vidéo j'ai décidé que je préfère Thomastik Rondo La / Re / Sol et Spirocore Do :)
Hi Arktid, at 2:07 I write "sautille" starting around 70bpm, maybe you missed that. There is no exact bpm for sautille - sautille is just a type of spiccato (fast) whereas not all spiccato is sautille. Hope that helps clarify!
Hi Jason! I see sautille in a little bit other way regarding the technique. Sautille is played in upper half of a bow just after the middle of it without pinky with loose wrist and mainly with loose stretched thumb und index finger. Just as if we were illustraiting the upside-down pendulum. And spiccato (again at my opinion) should be played in lower half of a bow and it’s got to be more controlled also with pinky onboard. Update: sautille reminds me the short tremolo and spiccato has more to do with collè. And you’re right with the meaning of spiccato (it just means separated so there are many forms and variations of it).
Thanks for this spiccato sharing! So helpful 😁 and the powerful bow I like! How to select a more bouncing bow when I buy?

Pas régulier !! Très mauvaise technique ! À ne pas imiter !
Merci Sebastien, c'est trop gentil! J'ai fini (finalement!) mon doctorat, donc j'espère faire d'autres vidéos comme celle-ci.
