    OK; another question; the top of the nail on your "false spindle" represents the elevation at the TOP of the arm rail, correct?

      Matthew Hickey It is the top of the arm rail but at the handhold height. the top of the arm rail in the back is higher because the rail is 1 3/8" thick. So just measure 5/8 up from the bottom of the arm rail at the center back.

      Fred Emhoff made them but he doesn't make them anymore. You might find them used.
