You inspired me to start my own no buy year in 2021 and I’m even starting tips on how to save money and budget on my UA-cam channel, thank you so much for your tips and advice you have really helped to change my mindset
Brilliant video as always! When you do the next food hauls, would you be able to do a tesco or Sainsbury’s shop as I don’t have an aldi or lidl close to me, please? Thank u!
I am a primary teacher, I am happy to help in any way I can. I am currently teach online live which is strange but I’m glad I still get to see my kids. I am currently on a no buy month, if it goes well I am hoping to extend it.
Hi Lara, I'm not new to budgeting but loved this video, I implemented a new budget last year which is working really well and it lets me know how much money I can spend on the treats without feeling guilty. We are in Dublin, I have 9 yr old twins, schools aren't opening this month as planned and I'm working from home on a laptop since March 2020, it is very overwhelming trying to juggle it all so I hear you when you say you went to bed with worries. Fingers crossed we're all going to get through this with our mental health intact 🤞🥰
Ahh! It's been a hectic year, and I've got my fingers crossed it get's better for you Sinead. That sounds like a lot to manage, but it's a testament to your tenacity that you've made it this far! Keep your head up, and I'm sending some positive energy your way! :) On a side note, would you recommend visiting Dublin? Travel is what motivates me on my financial journey, and I've never made it to Ireland yet!
I've always worked in charity shops for years, would not dream of paying full price now new, shop second hand savvy, grown my own nails at long last, keep my hair bob length, and diy it, paid off credit card bill nye morning, great feeling, now hoping to start saving again this year, if things improve and we keep our employment?
I'm currently working two jobs just to get by. I'm really tired and my emotional spending habits sure haven't helped me. I really really want 2021 to be the year I get my finances in control. I'm trying a no buy week, with hopes I can do a no buy year! My biggest goal is to pay off my car!
It’s exhausting!! I feel you. The strain mentally is really difficult. Emotional spending is such a common trigger but great that you recognise it. Try and shift to doing something else instead of spending when you feel that trigger. Or look through your bank statements and see what you’ve spent on then ask if that item has actually bought you any joy once you had it. Doing a week will hopefully help you kickstart some great new habits, good luck xx
Instead of another aldi haul, I would personally be more interested in seeing some budget meal plans. Meals made with staples that are on the cheaper side every where, i.e. onions, potatoes, beans, rice etc.
I know every time I look at my credit card statement , there are a million Amazon purchases. Sigh. On the up note, I started an online sinking fund for Christmas 2021. My first Christmas fund in my life.
Having been living a debt free minimal life for the last 7 years, I wake up everyday with a clear head. 1 month of my salary covers expenses for 1 year. I save 90% of my salary. Live on MUCH less than what you make.
Loved all these tips! Helps me along the way of saving. Already save insane amount on my low income 👏👏 most of my spending is amazon! Am trying esty now to help others and get quality stuff if I need it. Btw you look glowing! Really loving you look xxx
I set out with great intentions then 2021 tried to out do 2020! So not to get overwhelmed I've decided to record all of the mon essential spending I've been doing. Its a small thing not making me feel stressed but helping me to be more intentional as I have a visual reminded. Also noting down returns so I can see whats going back into my account 🙄
Right now in Quebec, Canada, they have shut things down so much the only things you can buy right now is food and medicines, so my budget is in pretty good shape. And now there is a curfew so you can’t even get necessities after 8 pm.
I always come back to Lara when I am trying to do a no spend as she is so real and I really understand what she is saying :)
Thank you so much!! Really glad they are helpful xx
