I live in WA and my attorney said we are one of the few states that allow state OR federal exemptions. I went with federal in my case because it was more generous for my particular situation. If I had done state, I would’ve lost my paid off car. The Trustee filed a report of no distribution, so in my case the federal exemptions were better.
