I bought a DX7S in Ebay from a music store of vintage instruments in Japan. The one they sent me was new old stock. It was still wrapped up and sealed in the box. When I ordered it, they opened it up, changed the battery and made sure everything was good to go and it sure was. It arrived about 8 days later. A beautiful New/Old DX7S that had never been played!!
thanks for this info. i'll try as you suggested to load banks and performances via midi, I have found the dx7ii factory sounds. just not sure how the performance which had dual timbres will work out on the 7s.
Here we go. Internal + Cartridge. When dumping Voices hit "Edit" and then "32" a couple of times. Set your Receive block to 1-32 or 33-64. Respectively. For voice data. Can do another vid to cover the process. www.dropbox.com/s/l7caxdzwt3gcqpp/DX7S.zip?dl=0
Hi, here´s a DX7 that was turned off for 20 years, the owner wanted to sell it and he changed the battery, after that, when he turned it on, the number display only shows the number 88 and the green display shows no text. The kb doesn´t sound at all by the way. Can we do something to fix it? Please help. Greetings!
jaime molina try to load some sounds into it. Either via MIDI system exclusive or by popping in a cartridge. If that works then it’s not too bad. Possibly even nothing wrong with it. However if that does not work and no sounds are loaded and nothing plays then it is really hard to diagnose from here. The technician would be in order. Sometimes it’s a matter of the board becoming under powered. Sometimes worse.

What’s the eBay store name? I wonder if they have more…I’d love to get a new old stock one!

Hello.. can i insert the DX7s Ram into the DX7IID?
short answer is yes. But I don’t know what you’re trying to do exactly.
