I have the remastered version of the album "Schizophrenia", which is the first one with Andreas Kisser, and MAX HIMSELF states, on the album's booklet, that Andreas Kisser changed Sepultura radically and for the best. There's no denying Andreas's talent as a lead player, but he's not as good a songwriter as Max and as much as I love a sick solo, it's the riffs and drums that are the key part in a metal song.

Which are Schizophrenia, Beneath the Remains and Arise. Ironically, today I listened to Roorback, which is a great Sepultura album from the early 2000's. Unfortunately, not too many solos, but the songs and riffs are absolute killers.

Max is insanely good at coming up with stuff but he himself is mostly a decent guitarist. So Andreas had a room to fill up with his soloing and virtuosity. It is even showed on their separate work: Max's projects are all mostly aggresive and kind of punk-ish/black-ish in a way, while Andeas has followed a more progressive sound. I just think both of them benefitted on working together but as it is I don't think they should be near each other at anytime, mostly because the evidence suggests that working with Max is a real pain in the ass.
@@Odhil95 No doubt Max has a massive ego and is control freak reaching the levels of Chuck Schuldiner (by all means he was regarded as a nice person, but his word decided everything in Death, thus the constant lineup changes). Taking into account the now decades old sore spot between Max and Andreas, I doubt any sort of collaboration will happen between them. Such musicians work better when they have bandmates comfortable with playing the role of their right hand men (like Glen and Steve leading Deicide, Terrance Hobbs leading Suffocation, Trey leading Morbid Angel, Gary Holt leading Exodus).

Here are a few facts: Fact #1: Max and Igor are the original creators of the band Sepultura. They came up with and composed the EP Bestial Devastation and the entire first album Morbid Visions. They then performed concerts. Andreas Kisser was not a member of the band at that time, he later became their guitar technician and was invited as the second guitarist when most of the Schizophrenia album was already written! Fact #2: Max came up with the name "Sepultura," so the band's name rightfully belongs to him! Fact #3: Paulo Jr. never recorded bass in the studio until the Chaos A.D. album. He confirms this in several interviews that can be found on UA-cam. All bass parts in the studio were recorded by either Max or Andreas. Just to add to #4 Max & especially Gloria were mourning the loss of Dana. Max went into deep depression & locked himself in his room. At some point the band decided to fire Gloria. Due to them wanting to push fwd with the tour. In the end it is their form of income & they actually left fans hanging. This is when Max felt betrayed by the band & decided to walk away & stay loyal to his wife. There was a live festival they needed to complete as Max & Gloria had to fly back to the United States when they heard about Dana’s passing. That was the last show they played together & the closest to a reunion. Then he called it quits & gave himself time.

It appeared to me that someone from the crowd made that sign and Max just ran with it. No matter the situation here, one thing that I definitely agree with is No Cavalera NO SEPULTURA. Max and Igor are/were Sepultura more than Andreas and Paulo. I say this because Max’s vocals and lyrics were the best for Sepultura and Igor’s drumming on all the Cavalera era albums was some of the best in metal history. I’ve seen Sepultura recently and I was not impressed. The version of the band that is out there now using the original name is just not good. They sound like a Sepultura cover band at best. It’s kind of sad.

Saw the original Sepultura open for Ministry in San francisco i think in 92 . Both bands had the house melting it was awesome

Fact #2: Max came up with the name "Sepultura," so the band's name rightfully belongs to him!
Fact #3: Paulo Jr. never recorded bass in the studio until the Chaos A.D. album. He confirms this in several interviews that can be found on UA-cam. All bass parts in the studio were recorded by either Max or Andreas. So technically, he was no one else but a session live bass player. ;)
Fact #4: Andreas Kisser and Paulo Jr. took advantage of Max's difficult personal situation at the time, claimed the good name of Sepultura for themselves, and used it to continue making money from that name!
Hey, talking about your fact 4 why don't you include Igor too. He remained in the band for about 10 years since his brother's departure and making 4 albums as Sepultura without his brother Max.
Just to add to #4 Max & especially Gloria were mourning the loss of Dana. Max went into deep depression & locked himself in his room. At some point the band decided to fire Gloria. Due to them wanting to push fwd with the tour. In the end it is their form of income & they actually left fans hanging. This is when Max felt betrayed by the band & decided to walk away & stay loyal to his wife. There was a live festival they needed to complete as Max & Gloria had to fly back to the United States when they heard about Dana’s passing. That was the last show they played together & the closest to a reunion. Then he called it quits & gave himself time.

@@SuckItDown Rizzo play all the guitars parts and wrote a bunch of riffs in Soulfly too. When Igor left Sepultura, we hear a huge difference in the writing process. More technical and more agressive too. Max and Igor are became the former self and they are out of shape...

The Cavalera brothers formed the band, recorder their greatest works, it's their band. What Andreas did, to fight them for the name, was immoral and opportunistic.

It appeared to me that someone from the crowd made that sign and Max just ran with it. No matter the situation here, one thing that I definitely agree with is No Cavalera NO SEPULTURA. Max and Igor are/were Sepultura more than Andreas and Paulo. I say this because Max’s vocals and lyrics were the best for Sepultura and Igor’s drumming on all the Cavalera era albums was some of the best in metal history. I’ve seen Sepultura recently and I was not impressed. The version of the band that is out there now using the original name is just not good. They sound like a Sepultura cover band at best. It’s kind of sad.
