Hey Rob!!! Just want to give "thanks" to you for being there for all of us fishy fools and teaching us you're knowledge.have a blessed thanksgiving to you and the family GOD..😎😃
I unfortunately skunked at the opener but it was also my first time ever trout fishing came back and binged all your videos ready to go back and give it another go 👌
I was there across the lake from you. I wasn’t sure if it was you but man I should’ve gone and introduced myself. Keep these great videos coming I don’t miss a single one 😂. Maybe I’ll see you out in the water next time
No worries. The rod and reel case comes from a company called Mountain Cork. They make custom rod and reel cases for just about everything fishing. Really good quality and reasonably priced. Here is the link to their website. mtncork.com/
Yea it's along drive but I have been wanting to go there for along time. I recently got my first new car and figured why not I'm about to take vacation from work for the first time in 3 years..
So the "mudhole" is hitting now??🤔 Great vid as always man👊😁 Keep em comin my friend. Wait, Papa John's sauce? Gotta say what HECK on that one.😁 Happy Belated Thanksgiving bro. Peace ✌😎
Ha man awesome catches quick question in your opinion which one is better using drop shot or power bait it’s cause I am gonna go this weekend and I just wanna know how to catch more
Definitely at the mudhole (and most socal lakes) dropshot is the most effective way to get get fish to the net. I do however have those days when I’ll dropshot all day and all they seem to want is powerbait. So I try to have a bait rid goin while I throw jigs or dropshot. If your gonna use bait, carolina rig with a 12-14” leader and keep it close. Cast around 10-15’ out. It feels weird at first but the trout tend to cruise the shoreline just out of our view. Hope that makes sense 🤘
@@typicalfisherman6230 I really like RUNCL Power Fluoro in either 5 or 6lb for bait and wait. For jigs, dropshot, and spoons I use Phenix Iron Feather braid in either 4 or 5lb and attach about 5’ of RUNCL 5lb fluoro using a double uni knot
Hey Rob I saw your pic 🎉on fb with your buddy’s at the mud hole how do you fish for Talapia? Rig,bait etc etc… Thanks in advance love your content & videos keep up the great job 👏🏽👍🏽
Thanks brother. Tilapia are actually fairly easy to catch but the hard part is finding them. They love warm water so winter or summer they can usually be found in the shallows. The hard part is they hang out in very tight schools so if your bait is a foot or two away from the school your probably not gonna get bit. Easiest way to catch them is a small piece of worm on a small hook under a bobber. Just like fishing for bluegill’s. They will also hit 2” rubber minnows or rubber worms on a dropshot BUT…. They have any extremely boney mouth so to get them on a dropshot you need to tie a dropper loop. This allows them to get the whole bait/hook into the soft pallet of their mouth so you can set the hook. Im gonna do a video on it in a couple weeks 🤘
Thier policy is that you must keep every fish you catch. Even though it’s against the rules I will release fish here and there if they are in good condition after the fight. My thinking is to release some so others will have a chance at it as well.
The biggest advantage is if the rig gets tangled or damaged fighting a fish I dont have to take the time to retie the entire rig. I pre tie A bunch and store them in ziplock bags. So I just get a new rig out and put it on the snap and im back fishin
Do you prefer Chris's Pond to the Big Lake? My usual spot at SARL is right across the road from where it looks like you are at near the fork in the road but on the Big Lake side. Keep these video's coming!
Thanks for all your videos. You make trout fishing fun. More importantly you give me an idea and options of other lakes to explore. Lakes, that I would never think about ever trying before are now an option after watching your videos.
Oh! ..hope to one day meet you pal !..tight lines!👍
Im trying to put out where im goin when more often. Its just a matter of time 🤘

I'm thinking about going here for the first time next week it's about a 10hr drive for me.
The mudhole is a fun place to fish but it can be real hit or miss. I don’t know if you really want to drive 10hrs just to go there.
Yea it's along drive but I have been wanting to go there for along time. I recently got my first new car and figured why not I'm about to take vacation from work for the first time in 3 years..

@@SeaSpankerOutdoors hey bro thanks for the information I just have one more question what in your opinion is the best brand fishing line for trout ?

Hello brother love the vids ..! Just a quick question are u allowed to release them ? I thought u had to keep any trout u catch ?
Thier policy is that you must keep every fish you catch. Even though it’s against the rules I will release fish here and there if they are in good condition after the fight. My thinking is to release some so others will have a chance at it as well.
I notice you have the drop shot rig tied on to a snap/snapper. What benefits/advantages you do you have with that?
The biggest advantage is if the rig gets tangled or damaged fighting a fish I dont have to take the time to retie the entire rig. I pre tie A bunch and store them in ziplock bags. So I just get a new rig out and put it on the snap and im back fishin
You can change weight on a second. You just snap it off and on. You can put 1 Oz or half oz. Change them. Get different cast.
Great video..hey rob what connection knott you use for your braid to floro
I use a double uni knot with 6 wraps. Hasn’t failed on me yet.
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors ok thanks

Yeah, I tend to favor the pond especially when its busy but I do fish the main lake quite a bit. Especially during mid week.
I did the overnight that same day. Saturday the wind was badddd bro couldn’t throw any jigs.
That sux brother. I’ll fish in the wind but I sure dont like it much
What rod are you using looks really nice
Its a Katana. Custom rod that are currently available over Instagram @katannarods2022
do you if there's shad in that lake ?
Oh yes. A bunch of them. I believe they are red fin shad but thats why dropshot and mini jigs work so well there 🤘
The way how ZZ Top set that hook. I thought it was a tuna!!!
That beard has great power haha
