  • Greubel Forsey has for sure established itself at the top of what fine watchmaking means and for a company that has started its activity a bit more than 10 years ago, this is quite an achievement! The notion of chronometry is at the core of the company but executed in an innovative interpretation and mastered with what is today the benchmark in terms of no compromise high-end finishing.
Since its start, Greubel Forsey have only produced tourbillon watches or other complex escapement systems such as the Double Balancier, but this year they presented a “simple” three hands watch called Signature with a “normal” escapement. But the very notion of simple and normal immediately takes a special meaning with Greubel Forsey, as this watch is just a concentrate of elegance and fine design.
The model presented this year comes in 4 variations in terms of case material, platinum, rose and white gold, and for the first time a steel version. It is limited to 66 timepieces overall, but interestingly this is only the beginning of Signature models, as the brand will associate itself with watchmakers, artisans outside of the company to keep developing this line of timepieces in the future. But for this first model, it was Didier Cretin, a watchmaker who has been working for the company since many years, who was leading this project that took 6 years to accomplish.

This is the only channel that I know of that shows all of these original and creative brands. Now if I could only afford one.

Always loved GF for their outstanding finishing and complications. Through this video I learned that they are also a great contributor to the watch enthusiast world! Even more points to Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey for creating such a fascinating and unique brand which really opens up the spirit of high-end watchmaking to the public. Great report as always! Cheers G :-)

Nice of you to upload a video of my favourite watch manufacturer on my birthday ;) didn't know what to think of this particular piece for a while, but seeing it on the wrist in the video with that backdrop... It still screams of industrial elegance and shows off the same caliber of asymmetric beauty that their other timepieces pull off so well, despite it being "cheap" :P

This is my favourite watchmaker, thanks for making another video on them. I'd just love to see one of their watches up close, nevermind own/maintain one :D These guys, to me, are the definition of 'cool'

It has great design and the highest lv of hand finishing by watchmaking masters(today, even Patek Philippe has increasingly more machine finishing component). I feel its a bit over-priced at the price of 7 Petak Phillippe. However with so little supply the price would go up -- and real watch collectors would spend any kind of money for a unique masterpiece.

Beautiful watch and a beautiful video! I have to say that I find the background music a bit too loud and funky for this type of video. Maybe it could be toned down a bit in the future?

Absolutely outstanding watch. However, by the way, more than 100 000 swiss francs for one steel watch giving just hours, minutes and seconds, a little bit exaggerated perhaps ;-) but dreams have no price, obviously...

Rolex is much better. Rolex uses MEMs technology to manufacture hollowed pallet fork, as well as better shock protection system and a more advanced hairspring...

Dial/front design is too similar to the Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity...wish the design was more original for the price.
