Green Tara, in Tibetan Buddhism, is a great bodhisattva revered as a savior. She is particularly esteemed by female practitioners of Vajrayana Buddhism. Green Tara is known for her boundless compassion for all beings. When she feels the suffering of sentient beings, her tears of sorrow transform into her many forms, making her one of the most compassionate bodhisattvas.
Green Tara's appearance is like that of a loving mother, always ready to rescue her children. She sits gracefully on a white lotus throne, her right hand resting on her right knee, palm outward, displaying the gesture of granting boons while holding a lotus, symbolizing her wish to bestow blessings upon the world. Her left hand holds a blooming lotus, with two additional lotuses, one unopened and one half-opened, representing her vow to uphold the Dharma across past, present, and future lifetimes.
