I just love the concept of Shen Jiu and Shen Yuan because he's such a complex and broken character. In this way we can save Luo Binghe while also saving the traumatised Shen Jiu. I really do love the idea of Shen Jiu having someone to put use his drive to protect someone he loves instead of hating everyone and everything to its core People who hate fiercely can also become people who love fiercely yk?
@@quillchild and he may be horrible from LB perspective (child abuse is wrong) but he also raised NN as his own daughter and F was fine as well. What did you expect when the very thing you are fighting suddenly exists in your disciple? He's just going with the flow of the whole immortal world. He just needs independent opinion. Independent enough that he can make his own decision on good and bad just like Shen Yuan who was outside the whole immortal and demon thing do he could make the right choice while Shen Jiu had lived in it since he was born. I honestly think that the story would have been better if these two were brothers because the whole time Shen Yuan had a biased opinion about Shen Jiu and constantly berated him until like almost at the end did he know about Shen Jiu’s backstory and the author of svsss just throw away a character with so much potentials.
I completely agree with you!!! I could go on for hours about how Shen Jiu just needed someone who would stay by his side and LISTEN. Of course, that won't fix him completely but just the fact that he has someone who can confide in and is fully aware that the other person is someone who's been with him since birth and would definitely never leave him would do wonders for his view in life

It depends on the author but the easiest concepts from what I’ve read is that SJ had a twin from birth that Shen Yuan transmigrates into and he stays with him throughout all the streets and Qiu manor. You could easily hand wave this AU to be fairly canon compliant by saying in PIDW and SVSSS canon this sibling always died young and was the start of SJ’s abandonment issues
