    Hi! Love this video, we are visiting in November and are very excited. I noticed one of you has tattoos - was this an issue for you with the public Onsen? We both have similar tattoos with similar placements and are not sure whether we can get away with simply covering them. Thank you!

      Thanks so much and good question! My son did not have any problems at this onsen (at the public bath), nor across the street at the town bath. He and his partner also went to a tattoo-friendly town called Kinosaki. Remember, that the Japanese distaste for tattoos is based on the fact that Yakuza (members of transnational organized crime syndicates) are heavily tattooed. So, unless you have full-body tattoos, I doubt you'll face any problems.
