Those who pressed the thumbs down 👎🏼 obviously 🙄 are hearing challenged!👂🏼👂🏼👀 Joe Henderson, 🎷Renee Rosnes🎹 Kelly Sill🎻 and Akio Sasajima?🎸🎼🎶🎵 Legendary!!!!
Akio Sasajima brings the heat and explodes with a subtle yet hyper-sonic speed. Kelly Sill, Rene Rosnes, and Joel Spencer's merging rhythmic collage is the Main reason Joe and Akio can launch into melodic flight. Rene Rosnes more than proves she's a heavy weight with her solo...very musical indeed. The word JUGGERNAUT comes to mind...hmmm? Jazz Juggernaut. 5*****star performance of one of my favorite straight-ahead/fusion tunes.
Awesome. I'm just buying this from amazon now. i started out looking for something of renees, then i found this with joe henderson, who's a god. and its always great to find a new guitarist (personally) who sounds great.
Akio, fabulous performance of great Jazz tune. I so admire your playing, a great blend with the band Thanks so much for posting, and hope to hear more from you, Best wishes, Don
Great music and outstanding playing by Akio his style is within the realm of jazz and yet he has his own way of of bringing nuance to the music. Not to mention the great Joe Henderson, I just love the sound of his horn. Hamba kahle.
Yea man he is a great teacher some would say he is very unorthdoxed or out as a teacher but you will leave with so much more knowledge gained. Definitely go in with an opened mind because he definitely knows what he is talking about. He knows the instrument.
I appreciate your comment greatly. Though it is my album, I produced it as me being a sideman. I could not lead Joe Henderson! I wrote 3 original tunes and the 2 were written particularly for Joe to play. I think this is one of Joe's best playing. (He thought so, too.) I learned a lot from Joel and Kelly when I was in Chicago. They are truly world class. 26 years old Rene was touring with Joe. I will soon have my own youtube site and post a lot of tunes, which include 3 tunes with Paquito.
Miss you in CA old friend. This number is the very definition of fire breathing straight ahead jazz. Brilliant. Really like Renee's playing as well..as well as her husband.
Anyone else notice Joe and Kelly play the same line right at 1:12 ? I had a chance to study with Kelly at Interlochen Arts Camp last summer... the guy seems like he is completely insane at first, but in reality he's the best music teacher I've ever had.
“LOVE THIS TUNE” Akio Sasajima, it’s an honor that you responded. I’ve already ( last year ), purchased your album Humpty Dumpty, thru Amazon... This tune is one of my all time favorites in Jazz now, and the best version of Humpty Dumpty that I’ve ever heard. You and Joe Henderson really shine ( on this tune ), but Renee Rosnes ( I think you’ll have to agree ), is just magical on this tune. And she takes it to another level. I love your cord changes that are most prominent during Joe Henderson’s solo... I’ve just subscribed to your channel sir, and watched your duo performance: “It could happen to you”. Great work sir. And thank you for the much appreciated information concerning this song...
@@westondiggs4324 Thank you for your kind comment. You don't have to call me "sir" We are all brothers. I called "Mr. Joe Henderson" first and he said, "Hey just call me Joe"
Akio Sasajima you’ve reached the highest level of your profession. It took complete dedication and hard work to achieve what you’ve achieved. It’s not any different then a scientist or great doctor that stuck with it and achieved great things.... We are all the better for them ( the doctors and scientists ), and also for your music. And that’s why I address you as “Sir.” Thank you for your dedication
This has always been one of my favorite "driving tracks," by the way. Picture yourself along a nice stretch of Highway 1, or some other open road. Mah-vel-us.
I like particulary the álbum live called Four! with the Winton Kelly trio, BEST improvisación Ever Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Joe doesnt play ,plays God!!!!!!!!
Joe is always Joe--which is to say, wonderful--but the bass player makes the song here. Nice light touch, great slightly-off-the-beat work--not easy to do at up-tempo. Somewhat reminds me of Patitucci or maybe Avery Sharpe.
ジョーベンダーソンとの共演見事な演奏に感服しました。日本を代表するジャズギター笹島さんの好演です!
This is Killing! Love it!

This question was not for me, but I highly recommend Kelly Sill as a teacher.
Hi Akio, I still have your Johnny Smith... we should fix it nice...lol! I love this track, by the way.
I like particulary the álbum live called Four! with the Winton Kelly trio, BEST improvisación Ever Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Joe doesnt play ,plays God!!!!!!!!
Do you recommend him as a teacher? I am going to take a lesson with him. Any advice about his teaching styles?
What in the world is the effect that Joe is doing at 2:34 ?
some combination of false fingering and rhythmic articulation
