Glad you put this out Meshida, after a 30 year association with Japan, I was always ashamed of the gutlessness of Japanese media in the way they call themselves journalists and fail in every way to hold people in power to account. Politicians included, Japan doesn't have a fifth estate, to act as a further corrective measure in society. Japanese Politicians are dirty, the courts impotent and given a free pass by the media. The irony however being that it was a BBC program that had the guts to talk about after the Jimmy Saville scandal. But Japanese media still just hope the world forgets and moves on.

Who cares. Old news is old news. The old geezer is dead. And an entire generation of countless young japanese boys have already been traumatized beyond salvaging. What's done is done. No use pondering the past when the damage has already been broken. Now young japanese boys must know how it must feel for jpop idols having to go on live stage, prancing around wearing skanky outfits to entertain a crowd of grown a** men over their 30s. Be grateful it wasn't the same pedos who made young boys do that.

Sleeping with directors is very well known in China as well, although people mostly relate it to females, but males surely can be victims as well. The sad thing is that there is no way around it, and since the upper class is the beneficiary, I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Was it a kind of Stockholm Syndrome? Johnny was a molester but he was also an intelligent, charming guy. I think the talents must have balanced out in their minds what they received and what they gave up, and somehow decided that they were grateful to Johnny after all and willingly sung his praises. The BBC, who dug the dirt on Kitagawa here, have their own history of covering up child abuse by a certain media icon: Jimmy Saville, in their case. Perhaps Kitagawa's victims can find consolation in the débuts that their ordeals with the plantain obsessive won them. As far as I know, ol' Jim never fixed anything so recompensing for his own victims.

After watching the BBC documentary, my first opinion is that the reason something like this can happen is because the entire industry seems complicit in the abuse because they gave too much power to Johnny to decide whom to promote. It is a very cutthroat selection and elimination process, so many were attracted to the stardom but only a few opportunities are available, and maybe that's why the boys agreed to this sort of relationships with Johnny. Is Johnny really that talented in developing the skills of idols?

I believe that a lot of gay/lesbian people are attracted to the acting industry. Researching Japanese sexual attitudes on wikipedia - older male/teenage male relationships were the norm in both the Samurai and Buddhist Temples. Has there been a shift in Japanese historical values? Buddhist Countries (e.g., Thailand) in contrast to Christian Countries appear more accepting of these types of relationships.

Well that was an interesting video. First I'll say that the jokes really made me laugh and even the girl Lie got a laugh out of me with the Ken thing. Now with that out of the way I'll be honest. All this does is show that sadly your countries media and mine are really no different which I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Who am I kidding you know because you talked about it in the past. Which all I can say is that because no matter what country your in the media has things about it that will screw people over. Which I don't trust the BBC because of what they've done in the past. But I will say that just like what's happening here for the lying media that my country has yours and every other part of the world the time is coming and we know that when it's all said and done your not going to like what happens.
