I have the same tank and also made this over a year ago, but I put the slits under and it the connects to a canister filter always crystal clear and healthy fish
I think putting the saw cuts downover would give better results, with the cuts at the top the water is sucked directly into the tubes through very little gravel, however having them on the underside the water has to travel through the substrate on either side of the tubes
This is a fantastic idea! I have built this UG filter. But instead of cutting the pipes, I made holes by using a soldering rod. I am using this as an extra protection for my aquarium. I have some other filters too. Thank you for the idea.
FYI... to achieve proper flow the uplift outlet should be under the water as well. That’s why your flow was not regular. You will not get full uplift around the tank unless the uplift remains under the water line. All this is doing is pulling water from directly around the uplift tube and not generating enough pressure to draw from the entire tank perimeter..
(3 years late) In English-speaking countries, it's called a "check valve" and you get it at the pet store or Walmart pet department where they sell the air pumps and tubing.
Bro excellent ide but incorrect method you are settling all the fish waste at bottom of tank which will produce toxic gas in later run.just use the reverse flow and clean gravel and use another filter to collect all dust that way you never need to clean your gravel again
Thank you, yes this was from a few years back. Since then it has evolved and it was noisy. So I changedd the setup to using a submersible pump in-line rather than an external air filter. This was the video I did then. ua-cam.com/video/fpn13RtBGZg/v-deo.html . After this, I have modified it further that it now no longer has an undergravel filter. It now has a gravel filter that is above , on the lid. The plants can grow bteer this way and the filtration of the water column happens as earlier through the gravel that is outside the tank.
Ro Sh , the pump is taking clean air from the room so its imposible for any swarf from the cuts getting into it, if he used a power head maybe but not using the airlift.
Hello ,I have built one with dimension : 90 cm length x 43 cm width using 25mm pipes .Will i need a stronger air pump ? How many litres per minute ? Or a standard air pump will be enough ? Thanks in advance.
@@NatureMagnifiedVideos It is more than 40 cm , if i cut it to a height of 25 cm , then the pressure will be much better with a standard pump .Because i did it exactly as yours but with much bigger dimensions , so the lower the height , better will be the vaccum pressure to draw water from under the gravels ?
@@NatureMagnifiedVideos Or i can connect the vertical shaft to a powerhead intake , what do you think ? I am using it in a 6 foot tank .I have already connected 3 under gravel plates with half the length of the tank that is 3 feet long , so i built this diy ug filter to complete the rest .
Very cool. Thanks for the info.
You're welcome

Tony ARC How can i see your video of your diy undergravel filter ? What should i do to view your channel ?

Nice catch!
Nice work on the DIY UGF! Thank you for posting it. I'm going out later today to buy the supplies! Look out Home Depot....here I come!!!
Nah home Depot won't be surprised since you'll just buy over 2$ of tubes 😅🤣

Super bro good idea
Nice video! That music was psychotic!
Mantap sukses trusss
thank you broo
who made this music. Dronk hobbit?
can you suggest me where can I get that reverse flow guard valve

V. Good
My proposition is to cut those cutouts before placing pipes with elbows and T joints. Your pump may broken with plastic pieces of these

also how it filter, i just water mover
Where can I buy the "elbow connector and "reverse flow guard Valve "
Elbow connectors at the plumbing/hardware shop. Reverse flow valve at aquarium supplies shops.
Surprised he didn't fill gravel one pebble at a time!
What is aquarium size?
30litres- 15X15X10cms
is this 'gravel' chipped out of the back side of the Taj Mahal?

@@olivierbourbeau4748 exactly with bigger dims. is not the same.
@@robertspringer9477 What shall i do then ? I've already connected it to a powerhead intake because of its enormous dimension.
bad idea the normal under gravel is better because it oxigenate the bacteria surface more than this small one
