the back story of spooky is basically she just wanted to be scary. she enjoyed scaring people, but they deemed her as "too cute", so she really couldn't. come halloween, she dressed up as a grim reaper, still unable to scare anyone. she had firecrackers, and chose the wrong person. a war veteran with ptsd. after setting off the fire crackers, the veteran had shot her down in response.

I know right, im trying to find out more lore to this game.
It's kind of a dedication to unit 731. In WWII, the Japanese did many horrific experiments to the Chinese, one unit being 731 was one of the more notable ones.
Some of these endings are pretty anti-climactic.
Well some make sense, like the "1000 rooms" ending where Spooky just kinda shows up in a sort of celebration room is if you turn on the "no jumpscares" option, basically they don't reward you for not going in hard mode. Plus, in the original game (and probably this one) the credits mention "did you really think this game would end seriously" which makes sense. We beat the game like we started it, in a joking manner.

Well some of them are just experiments, one is an extra-terrestial being, others are spirits, one is a cursed puppet, and one is just a possesed person, so if a person died in the mansion I guess he could be a spirit specimen or an alive one.
She just rounds them all in or makes them herself.

Think it was said Spooky when she was alive was just a kid who liked to do scare pranks, and she used explosives for one and it triggered someone With ptsd. They snapped and shot Spooky thinking she was a threat.
Using everything I heard + The Wikipedia, I was able to get the whole story.
Spooky was a adorable child. But, Spooky wanted to be scary. Everyone kept on calling her cute, and it just angered her. Halloween came up and she dressed up as the Grim Reaper to try to scare people. However, it failed. She looked in her bag and found Fake Blood and Fire Crackers (There are sweets, but that isn't important :P). So, Spooky went to a house and scared the person. However, the person had PTSD and had a gun with him. He grabbed the gun, and shot her. The parents were devastated by the death. Spooky, in present terms, still was known for looking cute. Spooky decided to make a army so that she could rule the world and not be called cute anymore.
Part of the reason she was upset is that people didn’t know her costume was, in fact, not a grim reaper, it was the titular character from an Edgar Allen Poe story, The Masquerade of Red Death.
Also, her father was the one who shot her dead. The firecrackers going off triggered war PTSD, so in a fit of pure fear, he killed his own daughter, which just adds even more fuel to the tragedy. Also, her father might have been the one behind the dollhouse and the experimentation, and might even be the player, but that’s just a theory.
A really stupid theory, thanks for reading.
if one player killed multiple creatures at once with an axe, theres no way that many ghosts will be able to take down an entire planet filled with humans. And since magic somehow exists in this universe they might even have made deviced that can literally kill a ghost

The game has a couple of links to SCP, not only the "Specimens", but also the endings. The bad ending of Spookys Jumpscare Mansion is literally the same as the Gate A ending in SCP, you've gone through so far, just to become the monster.

I have a theory...
This whole game probably revolves around this guy with PTSD who shots Spooky(see last ending) and what he suffers from and also what he sees from Spooky... the good ending is the ending where he can finally be free from his suffering in the real world and live his new life as a ghost while the bad ending is the one where he just lives? He most likely went on a full rampage just like in this game in real life so people started to experiment on him, causing the bad end

Sadly I think if I played this game I would probably get the bad ending where you become a specimen lol. I hate horror games and get scared easily so I'd probably be swinging that axe a ton as soon as I got it and end up getting the bad ending as a result haha.

Well, one of the endless specimen's death message says something about that mansion being something that makes the most unrealistic fantasies real. Spooky for example scares people. But not you. That makes her sad, obviously. But what if the protagonists true dream is to murder? A normal historean, who wants nothing but to kill. My point is, maybe the 'bad' end isnt really bad? I think even as specimen he should still be able to control his body.
