As a 50 year old mom myself...i found out that my 24 year old daughter never heard Tool. I almost cried with the pride of being the one to be able to experience it with her for the first time. Shes now hooked.
I've heard this song enough times to know that it's mashup of some of their guitar fills basslines and drum fills. And I feel like it's a homage to hey guys remember us well this ain't nothing compared to the full album.
@@hangingwithmom4364 I preordered the limited edition CD for 48$ and then the album leaked over the weekend. I found a link to it and stared at it for about 5 minutes debating about downloading it. I decided to wait what a few more days gonna hurt
light_medium_heavy, i only have ran though the album 1 time and 7empest was the stand out for me, but I'm sure once I listen to it a few times, other tracks will start to stand out too
i see it as a prayer, followed by a ritual expulsion of fear, in whatever form that may be to each of us..our own deciever...it even is song like a Psalm with the long ...then the glory of overcoming it ...all in music, quite brilliant
I listened to it cranked in the car and sang to it the other day pretending I was Maynard and it is an awesome song. Like most Tool songs though the individuals mood must be prepared ahead of time, I suggest a dose of sativa.
For me, this song is about innoculating against fear, and against those who (deceivers) would use fear against you and control you by telling you who and what to fear. It's both timely and timeless, like all great lyrics, and I think Maynard is a master at it. Still.
yeah, I agree with your mom's interpretation.... didn't get any religion meaning in it... first time I heard it, I thought it was OK.... I prob listened to it 100 times now and love it
My take on the lyrics, I feel it may have some political implication. Trump more specifically. The deceiver. Using fear as a form of power and inoculation is perhaps being able to recognize it and exhale it from your life.
Lol, y'all r hating on Trump for all the wrong reasons. I feel that when certain truths r revealed about the global elites that run the world, you'll realize who's REALLY lied and kept us in fear for decades, centuries even.
@@kentiversen3104 i dont think it is about trump. If you want to listen to maynards trump hating song listen the the arsonist by pusifer (i only say that because of the music video i dont think the song is specifically about him but it fits with maynards opinion of the president around election time). I think this one is about fear in general.

Never in a million years would my mom sit and listen to Tool with me. That's awesome!
Not sure if it’s a genuine interest or she just loves me and is putting up with me. Haha
Pretty sure she likes it! If you hate tool you really hate tool
I got my mom to listen to Wing's pt. 2. She said it wasn't her thing. Yet I can't hear that song without thinking of her. Miss you mom!
I'd love to see you guys do the rest of the album
As a 50 year old mom myself...i found out that my 24 year old daughter never heard Tool. I almost cried with the pride of being the one to be able to experience it with her for the first time. Shes now hooked.
Love this!! Thank you for watching.
Immunizing yourself from fear as you grow older and evolve. Fear holds us back mentally, and physically. Don't let fear control your life.
Thank you, I love this.
As in politics? Seriously think about it from that perspective for a minute!
Fear has no bounds. It interferes in any form.
Story of my fuckin’ life. Always a mental battle for me. Anxiety and addiction are a bitch
It's all about not letting fear control your decision! Nice to see you two back!
Thanks. It’s good to be back.
Tool is all about how you yourself interpret the music. Going back and dissecting after multiple listens is half the fun.🤘
So true, going to need her to listen a few more times.
More Tool reactions please!
I'm an almost 70 year old mom, and I love Tool!....❤
also Puscifer, and APC
This is the beauty of tool. It's what you associate to the music, because it highlights what's going on inside you. There is no truth, right or wrong
Love this! Thank you
Well said......it seems a lot miss that point....
I wish that she was my mom. She is the total package: Caring, cute, down to earth ,accepting of your new friends, and just totally awesome.
Well that is a pretty awesome thing to say. Thank you.
Tool is my favorite band of all time. I like the change and also them keeping their identity.
Completely agree!
The songs on this album progressively get better and better... and the best stuff Tool's put together from an instrumental standpoint.
Awesome mom great work yet again :)
Thank you, I will make sure she sees this.

I’m really looking forward to it. 15 minutes sounds like those that have heard it like it.

I suggest to react to some Portishead. Your mom will love Roads from Live at NYC.
Not sure I’ve ever heard them. We’ll check it out. Thanks
Hanging with Mom Portis live in NYC is special...make sure you check it out
@@hangingwithmom4364 Lol! Portishead is very good, also Radiohead. Tool and Radiohead are my favorite bands. This channel is pretty cool, thanx bud
Just listened to the entire leaked album. 7empest is a wild ride!
7empest and Pneuma are absolutely incredible
I can’t wait!!
Pneuma is so strong

6 or 7!!!? Naw, I'm just kidding. Glad to see a Mother and son hanging out. I look forward to more. Best of luck!
Thank you, we appreciate you watching.
Try Pineapple Thief - In Exile, I think your mom would like it!
Never heard of it. We‘ll check it out. Thank you

I can get behind that, thank you.
I think you hit it on the head.
inoculate yourself against fear
Thank you for watching.
It's a banishing ritual....getting rid of the darkness that has been haunting you...."its a long time coming"
I listened to it cranked in the car and sang to it the other day pretending I was Maynard and it is an awesome song. Like most Tool songs though the individuals mood must be prepared ahead of time, I suggest a dose of sativa.
Also I am pretty sure the song is about yellow bananas.

I think this is pretty spot on.
Inoculate (Verb) Inoculum (Noun) Inoculum is the stuff they use to inoculate things with.
You Mom kicks ass!
Tool is about to change music and you guys are helping
Well that’s a tall order but I’ll take it. Ha. Thank you so much for watching.

Same. I am hearing lots of interpretations online. They all sound pretty good to me.
Fell out with reactor radio (effectively) a few months ago but am tuning back in.
It's seriously the weakest track on FI, but I still engage in it.
"6 or 7"
BLASPHEMY!
🤷🏻♂️
Hey big fan here! Can you do opeth? Blackwater Park?
Good 8-) watch Pink Floyd - Confortably Numb .. live Pulse 1994 .. i think your mother will like this 8-)
Gerry Weed agree
Totally agree. We’ve got to do some Pink Floyd
@@hangingwithmom4364 yess,,, 8-) a good week to you and your mom 8-)
This how you properly use your mom.
🤔
Wow, I can't tell if it's about drug abuse or mental illness ? It's really long. Love your videos with mom😊
Thank you so much. It’s good to start them up again.
Wondering what happened to you both?......
Sorry, it was a busy summer. Thank you for watching again.
Nah mom 6 or 7 isn't bad for a first time listen esp for music you are learning to love :)
I think I feel the same way.
My take on the lyrics, I feel it may have some political implication. Trump more specifically. The deceiver. Using fear as a form of power and inoculation is perhaps being able to recognize it and exhale it from your life.

But mine goes to 11
Hahahaha
Could be this is about US politics, specifically Trump. If so, it's genius.
"I opened up to you, venom, in mania" "contagion I exhale you" "bless this immunity" and so on. Ending with the "deciever" running. Hopefully
I’m OK with that. Lol
