Quick update on the wear: Everything wore wonderful, maybe the foundation will be too glowy and will need a tad of powder in the summertime. It did not look wierd though, just a tad dewy, at the end of the day. All other things looked as great at the end of the day as it did in the beginning of the day.

Do you think now that you're in the US, and everything is much easier and cheaper to get at least as far as shipping, it will be harder to do a low buy year?
Btw, the e42 brush from sigma is amazing for what you described! I love it- I use it for so many things , highly suggest
Also I'm so impressed with your inner corner cat eye! It's so tickly and my watery eyes always end up ruining it. You're very talented! (Would love more tutorials on eyeshadow placement and strategies if you're interested to film them, of course)

Thank you for not having ANY filter in your videos, and showing us how 38 year old skin is a beautiful and natural thing, with texture and fine lines. Thank you for being relatable and honest. It makes me feel confident in my own body as 38 year old lady :) Besides that, we can have a really good look at makeup and decide our opinions about purchasing it or not, settings and lighting is the best!

You pronounce each letter! HEB are the initials of the grocer's founder. His name was, and I am not joking, Howard E. Butt. I moved here from NYC and I absolutely adore HEB. Their house brand products are excellent (I especially like their house brand Cetaphil dupe!), and do NOT sleep on their prepared foods. The HEB near my house just redid their makeup aisle and it's BONKERS. Full displays of e.l.f., Revolution, Pixi, TheBalm(!!!), NYX, and Creme, and probably more I'm forgetting. And then the Target near me straight up remodeled their makeup section into an in-house ULTA. RIP my wallet on all sides!!
Edit to add: Trixie Cosmetics lipstick "Model Actress" is on sale right now and it's a GREAT orange lip! I like it by itself or with a swipe of Royal Jelly which gives it a nice yellow/gold sheen.

The grocery store is H.E.B. (one says the actual letters). One of my cousins in Beaumont, Texas, (located on the gulf south of you) is a longtime employee/manager of her local H.E.B. store, & I’m always so jealous of the variety of product selection available from that chain. (I live in Tennessee, so I’m H.E.B. deprived!) 😄 I can truthfully tell you from her experience that they really take good care of their employees & genuinely care about them as people which can be a rarity these days. They have frequent hurricanes where she lives, & H.E.B. does a lot to support their local community there too (especially when disasters hit). Great company all around based on her experience! 😊👍

Groceries are unbelievably expensive right now! My grocery bill has gone up about 40% in the last year. There's an Aldi in Pflugerville though - you might want to check them out! They're typically much more reasonably priced. Then offset with some things from H.E.B. as you need them. I have to do the same thing to control my food bills.

  • @valerie5

HEB is Texas only! You do generally pronounce each letter. It’s also usually a little pricier than some other grocery chains, though the quality of products can be a bit higher even from their store brand.

Local grocery stores like HEB are usually more expensive. If you can find a Walmart, Aldi, or even Trader Joe's (although some things at TJs are still pricy) it's usually a bit more affordable!
The shopping experience at Walmart and Aldi isn't normally as great because Walmart can be absolutely nuts and crowded and Aldi has a small store, small selection, requires a quarter for a cart, and for you to bag your own things which isn't normal for us Americans 😂 but sometimes it's worth it for the prices.

I can at least clear up the included tax. Sales tax varies from state to state. Some states tax clothing or food, some tax neither. Additionally, some counties or cities can add to the state tax rate to pay for other projects. For example, state tax in Iowa is 5%, but in Waterloo, we have an additional 2%, giving us a grand total of 7% sales tax. This tax applies to clothes, but not food or medicine. tl;dr - Prices are displayed without tax because they vary so much from place to place and it saves the business money in advertising.

In Canada the tax used to in the price it was “ hidden tax” and ppl got really upset we wanted to know exactly what we were paying the Government on our purchases, our taxes are very high we pay 11% on most things including Restaurants and the on Alcohol it’s the 11% plus a liquor tax which I can’t remember exactly what that is and on Cigarettes it’s the 11% plus a Tabacoo tax same for gas 11% plus a fuel tax and Carbon tax and now we have a Covid tax on certain products it’s stupid. To live in North America is very expensive and Canada is much more expensive than the States our wages are higher so the cost of living is higher in some Provinces a 4 liter jug of milk is 15.00 dollars + tax and the average wage there is only 15.00 dollars an hr , the more North you go in Canada the more expensive it gets and we’ve been told that the cost of food is going up across the Country so be prepared to pay more but don’t expect wages to increase. It is getting so so very hard to just live period more ppl than ever are going to Food Banks just to barely feed their Family and that’s both Parents working full time with 1 if not both having second part time jobs so the richer can get richer and now what used to middle class is now just barely above the poverty line and what’s considered poverty line is basically barely surviving. Our Government System needs an entire makeover!!!

Hi Angie! So happy to see you on our feed again. Missed you so much. I’m going to mention this to you the way that I mentioned to a family member of mine who lived outside of the US, in the Caribbean. The prices here in Austin for things like groceries and gas, could be very different than in a different part of Texas. Which can also vary greatly than in a different part of the country. Case in point, the gas in California is a few dollars more a gallon than it is here in Texas. The United States is a VERY large country. So prices vary all over in each region. Hope this makes sense

@26:02 omgosh Angie your eyes look freaking stunning!!! thank you for doing this tutorial on that trendy liner technique bc although I have been wearing black winged liner for literally 33 years, I have never gotten very adventurous with it and really have been curious about this gorgeous liner style! truly appreciate you sharing that in this video & so so happy you are enjoying Texas and that you are finding many goodies to enjoy & share xo

It has been nice to have you back. I hope you and your hubby are settling in well and finding we Americans friendly and welcoming. As for bugs, I live in southern Louisiana. Just wait until it warms up a little, and you will see the 2 inch long wood cockroaches that fly!!!! Then, September brings swarms of love bugs that are just gross!!

    H. E. B.!!! say by letters...oh my gosh, I love HEB and miss it when I am back in Michigan. It has a lot of more local flavor. For a big chain grocery, they have the best beef. Pretty sure its pasture raised and not from cows packed in little spaces. I mean, Texas has so much grazing land. The beef in basic stores here in Michigan can't compare.

We pronounce it HEB long e, or just H E B. It started in Central Texas more than a century ago and it also runs the Central Market... most reliable grocery store in Texas.

This eyeliner technique is so beautiful, can't get over it! Despite prices being through the roof lately, glad you're enjoying H-E-B. There's a reason they're #2 grocery store in the nation, per customer experience rankings. 🤠

Idk why but you having the ability to easily buy makeup vs getting it shipped to Sweden excites me 😂😂😂 after seeing international beauty guru makeup woes, I’m like thank god I live in the US because between long ship times, delayed releases, and things just not being available - I couldn’t do it 😂

Oh my gosh thank you so much for pointing out that the USA is so expensive to live in. I think a lot of people don't know anything about other parts of the world, so they don't realize that we pay *so* much for things here.
