For the casting of Mario, we've decided to go with Samus. She's so cool.
I really love how much of Samus's personality came out in Dread. For someone who talks very little, you could understand her from her body language in the cutscenes and cinematic counters.
She ran out of fucks to give, and will blast bosses in the face with missiles while holding a death grip on their heads, tails, etc.
And the scenes with Kraid? She just didn't care anymore. She's seen him enough and was tired of it.
I love it, and I love this game.
I love when she screams after her fight with Raven Beak because she’s just done with everything she’s been through in this series. It says so much while also saying so little. Awesome stuff.

shes spooked... then sees its just _another_ kraid. doesnt flinch when it lunges, and just shoots it in the mouth, simultaneously conveying contempt and showing new players where the weak point is

when i first saw this myself i thought "Samus was never this cool, I LOVE IT." its just the right amount of showing off for the player while still being believable that the character does just do that. which doubly works because im only now realizing she just man-handled a large unknown alien creature to shoot missiles in its face and it had trouble breaking free.
Then you realize that she always was this awesome, the problem was that her series never received too much attention to be noticed by the masses.

That's what makes it so satisfying for veteran fans. It's not just that it's cool, if you've played the games up to this point it's totally 1000% earned that she's able to be so badass with ease. It's a thing of beauty.

The over-the-top cutscenes started in Other M.
It's just the sick action scenes were over-shadowed by character-assassination and dogshit control-scheme.
What sucks is i'd love a 3rd person 3d Metroid game... just Other M's story was botched a lot and that dragged it down

Probably an unpopular opinion after Other M, but I would love to see Nintendo partner with Platinum Games to make 3D, 3rd-person Metroid with much more freedom of movement for more acrobatic combat. If anyone can pull it off, it’s Platinum.
Yeah one of the key differences between a Plat game and a Team Ninja game is attitude. Worst thing that can happen is Samus tells Kraid to "fuck off"

Honestly the idea of someone having badass and powerful as a GF/BF is just so nice, one who could easily kick your ass but instead takes care of you and protects you from danger and is just generally a safe presence.
Man, wonder how many countless people have fantasised about that, must be loads. But yeah, I love Samus as a character she's both one of the OGs and still one of the most badass characters in gaming, her just generally being so cool, and I think a lot of people like us especially those of us with life/mental struggles can relate to a fantasy of having a strong caring gal or guy who you feel would be nice to curl up and feel reassured by.
A classic half to the ol rescue fantasy, probably not going to happen but it's really nice to think about and there's nothing wrong with having a dream.

I mean Bayo does have a Samus suit.
And honestly I wouldn't actually be apposed to the idea of Platinum making some kind of spinoff for the series, the styles don't fully match as Metroid is a bit more on the atmospheric side but I'd be down with a bit of an experiment between the two because I love both Platinum and Samus.
It'd be a cool hypothetical, maybe they could balance the tones (I mean they can handle more serious games like Automata). But Having the Varia suit return for Bayo 3 is good enough for me.

This feels like the unnecessary over-the-top type of Badass somewhat similar to Doom Slayer but without the Ripping & Tearing. (or MGS Twin Snakes)

Other m was made by the original creator of metroid and who is still present on metroid projects.
I'd like to think that Nintendo wanted to distance themselves from Metroid Other M and it's terrible writing as far as possible in the years after it's release. With this they have finally achieved that.
Actually I'd argue on that because MB had some interesting content around her, I feel like if the game focused more on that then the game would be amazing.

It's cooler to see the fight with context.
The first boss is kinda a spoiler, for people who haven't seen much of a proper entry in this series in ages there's some trying to go in completely blind wanting to soak it all in themselves being excited.
Something doesn't have to be plot related to be a spoiler, a cool thing even early on in something brand new can count, that's why it says *minor.*
The Twin Snakes comparison is surprisingly apt. Samus' badass stunts are so over the top it becomes comical at points.

Dude, she's been dealing with stuff like this constantly throughout her life.
It makes sense for her to have become super hardened and efficient with it by now, and it's a cool payoff for fans of the series to see how adjusted to it and badass she's become, this is set years past a lot of the series and it's cool to see how much she has grown.
And it's still not absurd, she has moments where she's outmatched like with that Chozo at the beginning or the EMMIs and it still has a good amount tension.
@@Rediscool9 It just goes too far for me with some bosses like Diggernaut in SR and Corpious and Kraid in Dread. I like it more when it feels like she just happens to look cool while blasting a boss. With those bosses I mentioned it's like she's trying to look cool.
@@Garomastathen you really don't know her at all, she's always been this way from electrocuting Draygon to death to literally doing a flip to avoid Omega Ridley's attack. She and other characters like Vergil, Dante and Bayonetta all follow the same tune and if you don't believe me see for yourself because they all go to extreme lengths. Oh but why should I expect a flop head wuss of a Zelda fan to acknowledge this about her?
This character is nothing like samus, cocky, violent and sloppy. I have never seen her let her guard down before a fight is over, nore stand relaxed, spread stance and hunched back like that. This is a travesty.

Also what else do you expect, Corpius is a snooze fest enemy like Hive Mecha or the ing which may I remind you she does a morph ball flip to avoid the hords of ing
