The tariffs idea comes from Peter Navarro, the least impressive economist in the last 100 years. He is in fact the only economist who thinks tariffs are a good idea. Every other real economist view him as a crank. The fact of the matter tariffs would be a massive tax increase on consumers who wish to consume imported goods (ie everyone). That should be the simple line against Trump, "he wants to increase your taxes in the form of tariffs".

I won't make fun of you because maybe you are a child or a foreigner. But the vice president has no power whatsoever. The VP is basically there in case something happens to the President. That is about it. All she can do is break a tie in Senate votes. She has no other legislative role, no executive role either..She can be assigned to negotiate with world leaders or get involved with any issues the president asks her to, but she has zero power to do anything about anything. If you don't believe me, you can find it in the Constitution.
