The star card no longer returning mana means it's a lot easier to stay in boundless without having the stress of being aggressive even when it's clearly dangerous to do so. You basically enter boundless, and then lock your mana bar with star, giving you 12s of free casual boundless. Conversely, you can use it to lock your mana bar when you're about to drop boundless during say, a burst window. The change to their awakening was necessary. During most encounters, in order to maximize damage, there is a specific opener where you will scratch dealer > awakening > space bar cancel > Call of destiny > celestial rain. This was to maximize the damage on the awakening, and efficiently use the same stacks to do damage with rain. Sometimes bosses just don't give you that chance to do so. So now you can just throw out the awakening for big damage regardless of stacks. example: In raids like G3 voldis, i will usually hold my spacebar after we get hit by the fire so we get the damage buff, and walk to safety. Not always the safest option, but necessary to do more damage as arcana.
they should have reduced the chance to draw star in the first place or straight up remove that trash. also serendipity is still a garbage skill. i hope they give arcana more love in the future, it feels so outdated
@@Kuro-sc1mg New Star Card is one of the best cards of arcana now. Definitely prefer a new top card rather than no star card as solution. It did need a rework 100% though because it's so anti synergistic atm.

So during that massive damage window, you do one burst, and you're stuck waiting on CDs because you had to re-enter boundless. If you could use the reworked star card, just hold it, enter boundless, and pop the card before the mech starts to stay in boundless and be able to DPS the entire window

It now locks your mana and also reduces skill mana consumption for 12 seconds, that means that you can prolong boundless effects for 12 more seconds for free. The change is huge. They literally turned a card that would take space and cause issues only into a god tier card.@@Kuro-sc1mg I would have lowered the probability of getting other cards though, like for example Three-Headed Snake and Mayhem. But I guess they have to keep some fillers.
I've got 2 different idea until this patch notes. My main is igniter sorc i was thinking to swap main to gunlancer or swap build to full crit reflux but now i got no fucking idea xD
Nightmare Reflux got nerfed - reverse gravity cooldown nerfed, forcing them to play something to burn mana, probably instead of counter skill. Hallucination Reflux got buffed, but it needs futher tests if it's a meaningfull buff and whether to play Inferno or not. Reflux sorcs often play Apocalypse Call.
@@jlee9360Just play souleater full moon - it's better igniter. :P But people play different classes for different playstyles not just dmg numbers. My SO playes Reflux, because she likes to RolePlay it. And Reflux with Hallucination build has as high floor as you can get - perfect for some people :)

Not really. They removed the Ready Attack tripods in exchange, so what they did was to increase the floor while lowering the ceiling. This should be a nerf in Trixion, but it might see the class doing more damage in raids, as you are no longer constrained by the 5-seconds self-buff window. In theory, Master Summoner has received a buff. Communication Overflow, not so much. Until they rework this build to actually benefit your pets more than the other skills, the build will remain D-tier. What is the point of playing this engraving at end game, when it buffs skills that deal less damage than Ancient Spears and Earth Collapse?
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth we will see, cuz the change allows you to potentially swap out the two skills with ready attack which are otherwise kinda mediocre. The problem is, all of summoners other skills are also pretty mediocre so its hard to imagine as a buff. I started off as a summoner main and still keep it on my top 6 and even with level 7 cd gems, its pretty close to 100% uptime ready attack if you rotate your skills properly. Super easy in real raids to have perfect uptime on ready attack on akir, ancient spear, earth colapse, awakening, which is like 85%+ of your damage.

Its a QOL buff but an overall damage nerf. In trixion, you'll see smaller numbers, but I feel like in real raids you'll probably end up doing more damage.
@@R0cketsloth there's no way that this could be a nerf, considering that base crit rate of igniter was rised, the bonus damage during identity was buffed in her main dps skills, and also the cast of doomsday is way faster and easier to land now. on inven i've seen a few reflux and igniters say that they saw a damage increase, but so far haven't seen a consensus of what is the exact % damage, since plenty of them are still testing the new inferno and reverse gravity changes for their builds
