24K Gold being shot at G&S Metals

  • G&S Metals and Refiners shot the 24 Karat Pure Gold from our refining into casting grain. First you can see the gold being heated up until it's melting point of 1,064°C (1,948°F) before it is shot.
    Once molten, the pure gold is poured into a crucible that has been preheated, where it then drops into a glass cylinder filled with cold water, solidifying into our 24K casting shot as it settles to the bottom
    The final yield from this batch was fifty six troy ounces of 24 Karat casting grain.

    Hi, thanks for making and uploading this video. Can you inform what type of crucible used for the graining? Is it Silicon carbide or graphite?

    very interesting process, why are you using a flame over the crucible in the induction furnace while melting ? and is that a regular crucible with holes ??

    perfect this is what i needed to know, now when something happens and the world "comes to an end" then ill know how i can easily break down my gold bars into smaller payable sizes!!! (he who has the gold sets the price and makes the rules :)
