lap 4 spectacle, it’s why cameras r rolling, sick lines & every lap is a chance to see something. drifts at skyway are all natural, I’m calling them floaters here on out, from surf lingo. all stock weight hope Home Office gives u another room in sub basement level 8.

Hey Skyway crew! I love these races of yours as always. I've been thinking: what if we could have 8 races for the finals instead of the usual 4? Maybe that would make it more thrilling Also, I got some ideas for some future tournaments that you guys can do: •A "trucks and vans" tournament •JDM-only tournament Maybe you guys could make one of these (or even both) sometime in the future (if you guys decide to put both the trucks and the vans in separate tournaments, I'm ok with that) Anyways, that's all I got, love you guys, see ya!

Ah Chris I remember the comment you’re referring too and I misspoke. I thought maybe I’d combine the two semi finals groups but the re-edit wasn’t possible for my timeline. The finals will be only 4 races. But I really feel the sea change towards 8 races. If I ever get back to a track, I’ll work with that 🙏

You can never go wrong with an F50 ❤ Without making serious assumptions based on a single 4 lap race, could the TRAP5 wheels on the Ferrari have been a factor? I just know that wheel is not often used in the hobby. Honestly that car couldn't stay in frame long enough to get a close look today, so it really is a _guess_ on my part
Love that Ferrari too! Such a great livery. And Chris Hood you might be on to something. I love that edition of FTE but hasn’t always proved the fastest. Also that Ferrari is the lightest of the bunch I believe. So light, it’s hard to catch any kind of groove without someone pushing.
@@theskyway there is a school of thought that claims the 2nd gen FTEs and basic TRAP5 wheels can grind aggressively against the track walls, potentially slowing a car. The tiny trapezoid shapes jut out from the wheels ever so slightly
A massive upset today as two legendary racing marques did not have the goods to advance!! Fierce competitive spirit matched by consistent runs and icy nerves threw open the doors to victory for those driving what to some eyes could be called relative upstart motorcars! This posits the eternal question is it more car or driver that deserves wreaths and accolades? Whatever side you find yourself, what is never undecided is the quality of unbridled action of motorsport on display at _The Skyway_ 💯😎🏁

I’m totally in love with the F1, but drift impressed me so much in round 1. That’s my pick. And I want Bones to come in second :) Race 1: Bones had a chance, but he just doesn’t have the top speed that can compete with the long body of Elle. She’s a beauty. Drift has a fantastic race passing Bones to take second, but most importantly showing he came to this heat with an aggressive racing style and plans on doing whatever it takes to advance to the finals. Let’s just hope that doesn’t get him into trouble. Race 2: Drift just continues to impress me. To pass Bones on the outside of the open track turn in race one is one thing, but to do it again to Speedman in race 2 is next level. Then he punches it and hits top speed in no time flat leaving everyone else in the dust. Race 3: speed speed speed! And I just love those big open track turns. I said it in the first round, I think Drift cans win it all. Race 4: no fair getting behind Domino to start, but at least Domino finished the race! Thanks for the great racing!
Always always love waking up to a Russel Commentary! To start at the end. It was great to see Domino finish, and to have a moment in tandem with Drift at the finish line. But it does require some pushing that F50 down the track in order for it to finish. I had some strong finishes in the first round, but not enough to keep up with her group of semi finalists. The lotus is a funny car. It's so fast, and yet so problematic like we saw in round one. And yet, it can post crazy fast times in reverse, and it seems to be able to increases its speed when challenged. Speedman is a great car. Not the fastest and yet somehow she can find a way to pass, and stay out in front should she be able to get there. I really love both of those castings, and its no wonder that they were finalists even before race four. I look forward to seeing them in the finals. This next group of semi finalists certainly open up some new racing excitement on this little track. Thanks so much for your play by play. Its always nice to read your commentary knowing that the car you picked will do well! Wishing you a great Friday!
Im a bit sad for Victor bones because I think I really had the potential to pass this round… however no surprise from Oliver drift just dominating the game once again

Ah it’s a good question and part a long standing curiosity in the community: how does @numbskulldiecastracing do it? I know he uses “Speed Machine” wheel sets that he gets from Hot Wheels ID cars.

Idk if it was his car on skyway that had similar sidewalls, it’s a two band color thing where manufacturer would usually be. Are those available or his work,I wonder. I did see a video where numbskull commented on the builder being very good.
