This video reminded me of when I got married and moved to Georgia from Wisconsin in 2017, and it made me feel so down memory lane. I remember checking out houses and being happy to find that they were a lot cheaper than in places like New York or California. The thrill of discovering new job opportunities and those warm Atlanta summers still makes me smile. Thanks for sharing all this info; it really brought back some good memories!

We moved from Los Angeles to the suburbs of Atlanta (Lawrenceville) 3 years ago and the only things cheaper here are 2 things only: housing and gas. For the rest of services …way way more expensive here. Example: dog grooming L.A. $45 in GA $80-$90, in L.A. there are tons of open air flea markets with tons of deals on many things year round! Here ZERO bargain spots and flea markets are few and don’t have any deals. L.A. has tons of small cheap taco trucks all around city (we could get 10 tacos for $11 in L.A.). Here, there are only luxe type food trucks where the cheapest meal is $15! 2 tacos $25! The list goes on and on….I miss L.A. 😢

I wish I could have interviewed you for this list! Groomers ARE outrageous here in the Atl and Metro area. My mobile dog groomer charges $145 WHAT?!

Found your channel now and subscribed straightaway! Great video!
Which website is better to check school quality? Great schools or Niche (school search)?
    Thanks!

I would use both. Both go off feedback from parents, students and test scores. Plus on niche.com you can see demographics and more.

Lakewood Heights is a transitional neighborhood that which is ideal for first time homebuyers and which will be a nice neighborhood in a few years especially since it’s close to the South Side Beltline and The Sawtell mix use project

Thank you! Glad you found it helpful. Did I cover everything? I meant to quote our gas prices: $3.06/gallon.

Gas competitive? On price per therm, sure, but what you're actually getting is a choice of middle man. My "per therm price" is usually about $7 of my $80 bill. The rest is nonsense fees to Atlanta Gas Light which they ALL have. Meanwhile there is zero choice in internet since they all seem to piece out the market.
Ethnic food is also stupidly expensive here. In DC you can get a banh mi for a few bucks. Here? $15. It's crazy.
The second I moved from DC my auto insurance cost has tripled. The only thing cheaper here WAS housing and now it's barely cheaper.

How much would a Senior Citizen Exemption be inside Atlanta city? I think you still have to pay a lot of school taxes. Therefore it would not be a good place for me to retire in. I was also informed not to live in Eastpoint because thy have very high city tax rates, and no choice of entry providers. I live in unincorporated Cobb , and my property taxes are low due to the generous exemptions as a senior citizen.

For Eastpoint, no choice of energy providers.

A lot of people move out of the city into the area you're already living in. What makes you want to leave an area that's already giving you tax breaks?

Hi Kelly. Thanks for the video. I’d be travelling from India to work in Atlanta. Work location wildwood pkway. Would be great if you could help me with a cost effective location to stay and commute to work. Thanks

You're welcome! The Wildwood Pkwy area could have you commuting from Smyrna, Marietta or Sandy Springs which area all great areas. I have a few questions to help me narrow to the most cost effective areas. Text or email me. 404-606-2219. kelly@kellycohomes.com
